Call came in at 5:50 pm on Fri. and left VM stating they were calling from Social Security Admin and call back I could get benefits starting this month.  

Three days ago my husband applied for social security - the caller from 410-965-2981 left a message for me to call back to address the fact that while they have my husband's claim they wondered why I have not yet applied for benefits.
I didn't return call.

Three or four days after speaking with Social Security I got a voice mail at 8:30 AM from Social Security, 410-965-2981, asking me to call then to discuss filing a claim.  I called the 1-800 number for Social Security and they had no record of a call.  They also told me that if there was an issue they would mail a letter and not call.  Beware!!!

Applied For SS And Received Call 3 Days Later From This Number 410 965 2981 And 410 965 1234 Saying They Are From SS. I Did Look Up The Number OnLine And It Is A Scam. How Did They Get My Info?

It is a legitimate call from Social Security in response to my application for benefits.  However, like any call you receive, just take precautionary measures to be certain you are satisfied that it is legitimate before giving your confidential information.
