They hung up as soon as our machine picked up.  It appears to be a local number (Pittsburgh PA area code) but not recognized by us.
Caller ID said "Market Place".  Could be a political poll, some sort of scam, who knows.  If it's important, they'll leave a message.  That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

It appears to be a workman's comp/disability scam group. Guy had a thick accent and talked like he had a script he hadn't read once thru yet.

Called 3:17pm; Caller ID listed "MARKET PLACE"

Didn't pick up; caller left VM:  pre-recorded/computerized female voice with pitch inviting patients who had  problems with the "blood-thinner Xarelto" to file a lawsuit.

It went on for a while, so I cut it off and deleted it before it finished.  I don't know if they identified the sleazeball law firm they are trolling for.  Another roboscam!

Yep, this was the "United Legal Group" with a heavily accented man in what sounded like a very busy call center, likely offshore (Bangalor...?), calling randomly and illegally about a lawsuit against Xarelto (!). The National Do-Not-Call Registry works for the vast majority of legitimate businesses that want to abide by the law and don't want to anger and alienate potential customers. That leaves the small minority of companies that either ignore the NDNCR or try to skirt it by using third-party callers. With these folks, I pretended interest, and was passed on to what was supposed to be a lawyer. Unfortunately, was put on hold and ultimately into voice mail, where I gave a 5-minute message, mostly about the NDNCR and the Federal Trade Commission. The only way I can see to fight the remaining scum telemarketers is to engage them, waste as much of their time and resources as possible, and let them know that the reason they are being punked is in defense of the NDNCR. Give it a try - it can be a real hoot, and as a bonus is doing a GREAT SOCIETAL GOOD (Ooooooh...!).

Received today for first time, left a robo message as described above...No one in our household has ever taken the drug in question, so why they are calling us is not clear. Could be a scam, probably is a scam, to get info from you.

However, the fact is that these drugs that were recently approved to be an "improvement" over the Coumadin that has been in use for fifty years, do have hidden booby traps. I understand that there is not a way to reverse their blood thinning effect, so that somebody who is injured or needs emergency surgery may experience unsafe bleeding levels. Coumadin (rat poison -- in higher doses it causes internal bleeding, and has been used to kill rodents in that manner) can be reversed with an injection of Vitamin K. Less serious elevations in the INR can be reversed with a cup of spinach or kale. It is a royal pain in the butt to be on Coumadin (warfarin), because of the way it interacts with food, making some of the most nutritious foods problematic, but the thinking is that persons with atrial fibrillation would have strokes without it.  Still, I think it is better than these new (and much more expensive) drugs that have no antidote. I cannot imagine how the FDA could approve a drug that makes people bleed, and has no antidote. But then they have approved a lot of dangerous and damaging drugs.  Remember:  it is taking your life in your hands to agree to swallow ANY drug that has not been on the market for at least ten years, in my opinion. I know Big Pharma's marketers do not agree, but they get the $$$$$s and we get the damage/death.

Anyway, these pest calls from "Market Place" i n Pittsburgh are working from something that exists in the real world, even if their calls are best ignored.

Thank goodness for the 800 notes.   Had the same calls from Market place as you.   DNC doesn't work with illegal scammer...the one  thing that can stop the telemarketers, allllll telemarketer is if there is a law says telemarketing is illegal.  I'm tired of the calls from 7 a.m.- 9 p.m....being woken in the middle of the day when sleeping - there is a lot of people who work midnight shift or second shift....n yet the "scammers" tell me how much I sleep any particular day of the week...tired of it.  Seems many people are tired of the interruptions of the day and evening by scammers, grrrr

    Calls me too!
My Xfinity app showed this number calling but I never heard the phone ring nor did Xfinity caller ID register the call. I was speed dialing someone at the time this occurred. Weird and I get strange calls all the time so I'm assuming  Comcast is behind this! Hope not because they will get sued.

So much for the Do Not Call Registry.  I get more solicitor calls since I made the mistake of putting my numbers on the list than before. Get them on my cell like crazy and I don't give that number out so I know they get it from the Do Not Call list.  No way to remove my number from that list.  Tired of the scammers.  Caller ID this time said Market Place.  Only part of the message was left on my machine. I erased it.  Figured it was BS.  Would be nice if we could call them back and harass them.
