Got home noticed a call from the same unknown caller, which usually is someone looking for donations. Answering machine only had a empty sound. Then I check the next call that I missed and it was from PPAF with this number. I pay for an unlisted number, plus I am on the no call list.  What good are these no call list and unlisted numbers for if it doesn't do the job????

We couldn't answer this call; it was blocked by our Digitone call blocker. We block every call except the local area codes. If someone from out of town (that we want to talk to) calls and gets blocked, they'll call back immediately; robocalls don't. If we get an annoying local call we just press 'block' twice and the call will be blocked the next time. Individual numbers can be 'invited' easily too.

Got a call from this number, I am also on the do not call lists. Machine Id the caller a PPAF. Man on the phone said he was call for something to do with a police association. I mentioned the do not call list and he quickly thanked me for my time and apologized for disturbing me and hung up.

I got a call too and didn't answer. Unfortunately, being on the do not call list does not eliminate calls from charities. They are still allowed to pester you.

Auto dialers will call EVERY number in your state using area code + your local exchange + every number between 0001 and 9999.  Unlisted or Do Not Call doesn't matter.  All 9,999 numbers in your local exchange get a call.  If you tell them not to call, they change the number that shows up on your caller ID  and  start calling using that one.  You can't win.

I worked over a decade for the FBI before becoming a federal prosecutor, and I can tell you there are two sorts of people working for the federal government who would be powerful allies. Ig that how you earned your name? Frst, there are the crusading civil rights types. These are the guys who started working for the government specifically because they wanted to investigate things like violations of anti-discrimination laws, big companies stepping on the little guy, and police abuses. Also, look for non-government organizations that do the same thing. This is a great time because those organizations are at the height of their power. Usually public support is split because conservatives tend to be very pro law enforcement, and they don't like the big civil rights organizations like the ACLU because these organizations don't fight for Second Amendment rights, and conservatives don't agree with defending a "criminal's rights". But today, the police are "Obama's police," and thanks to the PRISM scandal, even people on the right are starting to realize that it's not just criminals who get caught up in police investigations. The net result is that it's become easy to find an NGO that is non-partisan or at least matches your politics that is willing to help hold the police to account, and they enjoy more widespread support.

I got a call from this PPAF. I screen all incoming calls... I am tired of getting these calls around 3 am . I have a back injury and have a hard time getting around. When the phone rings at that time of the morning you always think there is something wrong with a loved one. It is known that any phone ringing to anyone whom has health issues can add added stress. They just called again at 2pm and left no message..

I have receive phone calls DAILY from PPAF for over two months.  "PPAF" is all that is displayed on caller ID screen.   I have tried several times to answer the call to ask them who they are---there is never anyone on the other end of the connection.  I am ready to start legal action!!
