Robo-call informing me that there was a serious matter requiring my attention with the IRS. and to call them back at 413-232-1532 or the local "cops" would arrest me.  The grammatical issues with the phone message were funny and the use of the word "cops" was very funny.   However, I would give it a zero for intimidation.

Scam! The IRS doesn't initiate contact via phone but via US mail. They also don't threaten arrest nor demand instant payment, which is what these scammers will tell you if you call back. Just block and ignore such calls.

SCAM! Block caller! When I asked for his boss he said he is the owner!? Why would Owner call ? Then I said I’ll call IRS DIRECTLY HE CURSED AND CALLED ME A C WORD! Unbelievable.

Did not answer, they left automated voice with the same phone message as others have reported, threatening to have cops take me into custody. LOL

Robo call left me a message saying they were from the IRS and there was a serious issue.  If I did not call back in 24 hours I would be taken into custody by the local authorities. Obviously total scam!

Wow, these guys need to learn some English!! Same call, same message, same threat of sending the "cops." LOL!!

Like everyone else who’s written here, I just received a call from “investigation team of IRS” supposedly informing me of problems with “tax filings” and all of that silliness. The grammar, syntax, and sentence construction is laughable, and I cannot believe anyone would fall for this very obvious scam.

I got the same recorded message on my answering machine. IRS, cops, etc.  Now blocked.

Same message as above from same phone number.  Agree on all comments above; grammar, the use of the word "cops", and the threat of being arrested...

In Las Vegas and just got the same call. It was actually amusing since the caller was a foreignor. They actually said they are the IRS, until I asked if she was even American --- she hung up. Who does one report this to to shut them down?

I got the same kind of call and they left the voice message same exactly as everyone else in this thread got ... given that this is first time I received this message I have given them a call back ... the lady on the phone claimed that she is a federal agent from IRS in DC and I owe IRS back taxes. If I do not pay immediately then I’ll be arrested by local authorities... I told her that I do not owe any taxes to IRS to the best of my knowledge and haven’t received any letters. I told her that I’ll contact my local IRS and get more information

Same as above callers, need to call back immediately or local 'cops' will be at my door to arrest me

Same thing happened to me then I started to call them back and mess around and curse at them and they would curse back.  It was pretty fun actually!

Same voicemail in Wisconsin. I'm tempted to call back to just mess around with them.

I received the same message on my home line and cell phone..."cops" was laughable...Needless to say, I will not be returning the call.

Received a call to my voicemail on 9/24. This was the transcription: "Once it get expired after that you will be taken under custody by the local cops as there are four serious allegations pressed on your name at this moment. We would request you to get back to us so that we can discuss about this case before taking any legal action against you." Left the number twice and ended with "thank you". So they receive a point for manners, but lost it on the robotic voice. More points off for grammar. "The local cops" part cracked me up.
