- madratwas a robocall from a scammer claiming to be with microsoft. Idiots cant tell the difference between an answering machine and a live person. It said press one. Never press anything.
- Caller: fake microsoft caller
- Call type: Telemarketer
- DhaasThese people are idiots. At least once a week a get a call from a different number and they all say the same thing. I have a problem with my windows computer. I usually play along for a while before telling them I run Linux, or Solaris, or HP-UX, or AIX, or QNX - really any of the unix based flavored OS's... They tell me I am wrong and then get mad when I tell them I do not have a Windows keyboard or a start menu... They get even more upset when I ask them what the script tells them to say when they find out I am not running Windows... They swear and hang up.
Sad really because I know there are a lot of people that would fall for this scam, and there is nothing we can do except for report them - but nothing is ever done to find these people and charge them with criminal mischief.- Caller: Supposedly Microsoft
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Frustrated cls7/14/2014 @ 8:25pm. I just received a call from 415-111-2000. I received one yesterday around the same time. There is an automated message stating there is a problem with our computer and to press 1 to speak to a Microsoft Engineer. I do not have a computer connected to the internet. Ibviously it is bogus. There should be some way to shut these callers down!
- Caller: Allegedly Microsoft
- Cuzzin NeufyMy computer is generating. . . Then I hung up. CallerID says name unavailable.
- kellyCouple years ago they scammed me for $300. Now they must think I've forgotten as calling me again. I've reported them but there is nothing that can be done as apparently they are based in India

- JoyI received the call from this number and I did key in info he asked me to. This loaded teamviewer on my laptop. In just a few minutes I deleted the new software.
His initial approach was that I was having serious problems with microsoft. I assumed that I would be contacted in some other way than by phone. I was the dummy this time, but not again.- Caller: Microsoft
- LauraJust received the same call from 415-111-2000 as everyone else who has responded here about this number. Started out as a robotic message indicating it was from Microsoft and there is a problem with my computer. I pressed 1 (I'm sorry I did that) and then a man with an Indian accent answered and told me I was ignoring security alerts Microsoft was sending to my computer. Surprisingly, he didn't ask for any personal information, but just told me to respond to any security alerts I would receive. Was suspicious of this, and certainly would NOT do anything further. I only hope by pressing 1, I wasn't somehow approving some charge from them to my phone. Anyone have any thoughts about this possibility??
