Message said "hey lexi some girl is talking about you" and the link takes you to an app on the App Store. I've seen a couple more messages floating around that came from a different number but was the same concept.

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.

Yeah...same happened to me except they used my nickname Abigator which nobody uses anymore. Only thing was it acted like the app never existed when I got curious and clicked the link. What app did it even take you to?

Very odd how no one gives the name of the app, not even a name that appears in the link - including you.

Yes same thing. I got this text when I was outside and when I came in I checked it and it read," Yo Ratchet a girl was talking about you on https://appsto.re/i67S6vk 😂."  Ratchet is a nickname my friends use when we all made nicknames for each other and I'm not sure how they got this. I responded with who is this and I doubt I will get a response.

This is a text message scam.  It is at best, a marketing ploy - These are trick texts to get your money or steal your info.  The scam works since it makes you think you are being talked about behind your back, and being a child of smart phones and scared of missing out, you fall for this scam.  --  Do not respond to this junk.  Forward and report as spam.

Read the posts below.  They idea is to make the person receiving the text think that they are missing out on what is being said about them behind their backs.  If you are insecure and immature, you will fall for this cheap manipulation.

post live links to malicious sites. If you clicked on that link it probably installed something on your phone. Post reported to have link removed.

I just got the same message they used my nickname "Cereal " responded to them but nothing don't know  what to do that's kinda scary

I got the same one and it used my nickname that only 2 of my friends call me now. Idk if it's related but on my twitter someone dm'd one of my friends saying Hi at 11:02 but it wasn't me so I changed my password. I did click the link but didn't download the app that it lead me too. How do I get rid of this for good?

I got a text from this number just a few mins ago it's said yo Brittany some girl is talking about you" it was 1 of 2 msgs so I guess the link didn't come through

Lol I got the same exact thing 20 minutes ago thought it was serious or a prank

It did the same to me it said " Yo Olivia a girl was talking about you on ..." then it would have the link to the app. I think they got the name from my insta or one of my other apps. Cuz I used to use y0.0livia as my username a lot and, it's pretty similar to how they spelt it.
