The IRS scam phone call.  "Julie" called and warned me that the IRS was coming to arrest me.  BS

I have received calls from this twice now and I can never understand what they are saying. I do believe it is a scam.

Called twice. First time was a call center from Leroy Jones (a strongly accented individual) with many voices audible in the background repeating the message that they received a claim against (a name similar to a name of someone in our household) and that we should return the call ASAP to avoid being sent to federal court. The second call from an automated voice named Julie Smith said that there is an urgent IRS issue to address and I must not ignore the call. The second call was an automated voice named Julie Smith.

The IRS scam, hard to catch the entire message.  Totally disregarding the DO NOT CALL List.

"The internal-revenue(?) service and the hotline to my division is 415-234-9480. I repeat it's 41523494809. Don't disregard this message and do return the call before we take any action against you. Goodbye and take care."

There is a fairly common IRS or "tax scam" being practiced by scammers on both Canadian and USA residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.
