Recieved a message claiming to be irs however. It came from cali i live in utah.

I was contacted by these people with what seemed to be an Indian american accent claiming to be the IRS calling from 415-234-9585, said they need $3999.72 to be paid or the local authorities would come to my residence with an arrest warrant. they also stated that my passport will be black listed, Driver Privileges suspended and all bank accounts frozen for a total of 5-7 years. they are a SCAM! DO NOT give them your phone number, name or any other information they request. please do as i did . and call the IRS treasury department and file a fraud report on them. the number is 800-366-4484.

I just received a call from them as well they threatened me and refused to send me any documentation about the return they said I fraudulently filed.  They said I owe 4099.98 and that they have already tried to contact me 3x which is why the cannot send me anything allowing me to dispute the error.  Then she said the local authorities would be at my home soon and hung up.

They left a VM on my phone.

I received phone call and it was a recorded message. As far as I can tell, it was not indian access (recorded message). I heard this type of fake calls from many others and it doesn't sound genuine at all. I would call IRS and report about this call like the other person said above.

I meant *accent in above message (and not access).

Received this call as well and informed me that they're IRS and not to disregard their message or will be arrested. Same here will report this number so legal action can be taken against these fraudsters.

I got the call from the same number. They already had a database with my information (like name address etc). They claim to be from the investigation branch of the IRS. They told me similar things that others have mentioned. They said that I owed 5999.90 (interesting number).
I reported the matter to local police, and set up credit monitoring to my accounts.

I was just contacted too and they said i owed money back to 2009.  I was going to bearrested etc. but the had my old address and when i told them that they hung up.  I did not tell them my new address b/c i said we have filed taxes since we moved. Very scary!

I received a voice message and deleted it. Come get me scum. Third time I've received one of these messages in two years from different area codes and numbers. I've checked all the numbers and all are scams.

Definitely a scam. Contacted police after the indian [***] threatened to come to my house n shoot me when i answer door. My local police dept said they r well aware of these 2 scammers callin from phone number 415 234 9585 and that the irs and fbi are tracking them down.

Received a voice mail from these folks (415-234-9585) this morning. Voice mail said I need to call them before they take any action. I called this number and the lady was so rude, she called me a SOB and A**Hole, when I said she had a lot of noise around her. She hung up. I called again and again. She probably asked a different guy to answer the phone. I didn't give my original name and that guy asked me if I think he's an idiot/fool. I said yes. Then he started calling me names/bad mouthing me in "Hindi", recognizing me that I'm also an Indian. These people are so fake and rude. Someone has to put them out of this business. I wonder how. Totally ruined my morning with this unnecessary non-sense.

Here are all the numbers I received a call from, after my oral argument with this first 2 people. They probably have a software that can keep dialing your phone from different numbers. I'm not kidding, I got nearly 40 calls one after the other when I kept rejecting the calls. The following are the numbers:

        Unavailable Caller ID,

        Caller ID 57.

These thugs use offensive language only the moment you start questioning them. Please don't waste your time and energy calling them back. Not worth it.

IRS Scam!

I also received this call from the supposed IRS. It was left on my voice mail, thank goodness. After checking this number out and reading all the posts here, I realized it was a scam and did not return the call.  One day these people will have to stand before God and be accountable!

They only thing that will stop them is if WE hold them accountable. 415-234-9585 is a Magic Jack number — if you get a fake IRS call referring to this number you should IMMEDIATELY report it to ReportAbuse@magicjack.com

Got a call today. Lady was rude when I said that she wasnt irs. She then hung up. Indian [***]!
