A recorded message from Julie Smith sating she was an officer  of the IRS;  She left a number to call.Urging me or a retained  attorney to return the call  and to take the matter seriously.  She never stated Who it was she was calling

called and left recorded message from Julie Smith of the IRS, when I called back, I got upbeat elevator music and no official answer. If the IRS needs me, they'll send an official letter, not make a call with a recorded message using a common name.

Robocall with computer generated female voice identifying self as Julie Smith with Internal Revenue Service and urging to take call seriously and respond by calling 415.234.9604.

Called back and got a Eric Jones, asked him to confirm what organization he was calling from and he promptly hung up.

I also got a call on my machine from a terrible accented woman named Julie Smith claiming to be with the IRS and I needed to call back before they took action against me.What is going on??

Received robocall as described above. Not calling back. Not sure what the scam is. Very strange

it's a scam, the IRS never calls you but contacts you via mail. Never give away personal information as SSN, banking account numbers and so on...it's a scam.

People like this are wrong!i am tired of being taking of advantaged of.poeple coming at you left and right all the time. I thought it would stop in childhood,or in teenhood,,or in early alduthood !i feel like the bullying has never ended.and sadie feels the bullying as well.

IRS scam.  Been around for awhile.  Originates in India or Pakistan.  Do not fall for it.  IRS never cold calls you about a tax dispute.  IRS only initiates contacts by US mail.   They are trying to scare you into paying them something by Green dot money pak which are untraceable.

Invest in a call blocker and do not pick up on call numbers you do not recognize.  Don't be afraid of these scammers.  Don't talk to them, do not return their calls.

Axiom:

If anyone with an Indian accent cold calls you and 1.  threatens you or 2.  offers you something, you know it's a scam and hang up immediately and block the call.

Never wire  anyone money if you do not know them personally.

The IRS never contacts people by telephone. If/when needed you will get a letter, either regular mail or Certified mail. This is a scam. Do not answer them. do not call them back, do not hire an attorney, do not pay them money. File a complaint with the FCC consumer fraud division.

Got a voice mail from 415-234-9604 claiming to be the IRS and threatening legal action, etc. I had heard about this scam already. I called back and when the Indian-accented voice answered with, "Internal Revenue Service", I said "I know this scam and I'm reporting you!" He promptly hung up, and I reported the call at www.irs.gov, and YOU SHOULD TOO so this will stop.

Got the call from this number at8:25 am on Thanksgiving claiming to be Julie Smith from the IRS.  Anyone believe that the IRS is going to call on a Federal holiday?

PS added the number to the call blocker on the phone.

I got a call today.  They had my name and some info.  Said I owed over $6,000 in tax fraud,  That the sheriff would be at my door Monday morning to arrest me.  Said I had been sent two notifications but that no one was home so it was not a criminal case and I had to hire a criminal attorney to take the case.  
Glad to know it is fraud.  I could not figure out why they would call either.

Got a robotic voicemail stating urgent IRS call. When called some Indian accented guy picked up and said IRS. When i asked what's this regarding about he said oh u must have the wrong number then hung up! Absolutely absurd.

Received a phone call from 415-234-9604 stating it was urgent and I must call back to avoid action.  The woman stated she was calling from the IRS.  Knew it was a scam because the IRS isn't going to contact you by phone.  They would be sending something thru the mail first.
