Received a call from this number stating it was the IRS and do not hang up.  Urgent call.  Will take further action if we don't respond.  Take Care.  

Is this legit?  We don't IRS.  What should we do?

"I need you or your retained attorney of record to return the call. The
issue at hand is extremely time sensitive. My officer Julie Smith from
internal revenue service and the hotline to my division is 415-234-9702. I
repeat it's 415-234-9702. Don't disregard this message and do return the
call before we take any action against you. Goodbye and take care."

This is a total scam. And a common one at that.

Don't answer or return these calls. Report them to the IRS.

My husband &  I have been getting all kinds of calls like this for the past 3 days.  I am from California and I hate that people do this  from San Francisco area.  I do know the IRS would not handle things this way. Please beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got this call too. Same automated voice mail as everyone has stated. I am not responded, doesn't sound legit!

Got a call from Officer Julie Smith of the IRS (415)234-9702 said that I needed to call back or they would take legal action, then they said have a nice day! I know it is a scam, for one thing, the IRS would not be calling on a Saturday morning and they would never threaten legal action in a recorded message. I searched the number and it is somewhere in Ignacio, CA

Same as the others have described. Don't be fooled; the IRS would never behave this way. They always start with official written correspondence.

Get a call from this automated machine claimed as IRS.  Ignore it!

Complete scam. I contacted the IRS and they said they do not leave messages like this that they will always identify themselves with a badge number. Ignore!!

We got a phone call from this number on our home phone today (12/10) at 10:26am (CST). We did not answer, but they left a message just like the one described in the other comments and you could tell it wasn't even a real person! It was a COMPUTER!! This is a total SCAM! DO NOT fall for it! Put the number on your call block list like I did. You'll be glad you did.

Do NOT call this # back, and certainly do NOT give them ANY of your personal Info!!

A digital voice recording calls and leaves a garbled message as stated below.  They never say the name of WHO they are calling FOR, because they have NO idea due to the fact that they are SCAMMERS hoping that you will call back and give THEM all of your personal info!!!!!!
