[***] posing as IRS agents wanting personal info..... They blocked my number after I said I was law enforcement.

Keep calling and leaving messages saying they're the IRS.  Yeah right...

Another IRS scam.  "Agent Julie Smith" (which was a computer generated voice, like Siri ) claiming to be from the IRS, and threatening legal action, warned me to not neglect this call.  I'm supposed to call back on her direct line to avoid prosecution.  Yawn.....  

I got exact same call as DLJ above.  Computer generated voice claiming to be "Julie Smith" from IRS, threatening legal action, requesting that I or legal representative call back, etc.

This is clearly a SCAM.  My regional IRS office isn't located in CA, the number they called isn't on record with the IRS, and when the IRS contacts individuals, they invariably do so IN WRITING (not with pre-recorded non-human phone messages!).

I'd assume if I were stupid enough to call back the scammer on the other end would try to get sensitive personal info from me like social security number, date of birth, and anything else they could use for identity theft or other fraud.

Received the call on 11/26/2014, 9:20am CST.  Automated IRS/legal action call.  Automated messaged "required" a call back to the same phone number.  Glad there are others who are also recognizing the SCAM-SPAM voice call

Receieved call from this this number on Thanksgiving day (11/27/2014). Automated voice claimed they're from the office of Julie Smith IRS...Our tireless IRS agents work even during the holiday!...I don't think so! Reported to IRS here http://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml

Received this call twice on Thanksgiving morning.  IRS?  Who would really call them back? ? ?
I will contact my Senator about this one.  Thanksgiving morning. . .

Got same message on 11/26.  Never heard anyone from IRS refer to themselves as the retained attorney as the message did so figured it might be a scam or debt collector.  thanks for the posts confirming

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Receiving regular calls from harasser posing as IRS agent.  Calls come in at a frequency of several times per day, at times.

The empire of "IRS agent Julie Smith" strikes again. Same computer generated voice mail ...same number...Sick of these [***]. They need to find some gainful employment...not cheating people..scumbags !!

I received the same phone message as others on this thread - a computer voice threatening legal action by the IRS and referencing a hotline for Jill Smith at 415 234 9734. I have received 3 calls so far today.

They also stated, I needed my attorney to call. Then when I inquired on name and identification, they provided a name and in state city, address and an id # *UCK and he repeated it twice. Very annoying!

Promptly returned this call, the operator with the foreign accent asked for my phone number, then asked if I was "my First initial", "my last name".  I asked the operator why she didn't know my first name, she responded that it was regarding my back taxes--which I don't have--she told me to have a good day.

received two calls today 12/4 from the so called IRS but it was a recorded message and they never spoke my name only said to call or have my attorney call. I called and the man who answered had a very heavy accent and I told him I wanted to speak to Julie he said she was busy I refused to give him any information and he hung up. Do they think we're that stupid. The IRS sends letters

Received a message Dec. 3-called back and a guy with very broken English told me "if you run you will be caught and have to serve two years in prison". I am going to use the law enforcement official on them too cause they won't leave us alone

So last night I got a call from 973-343-0583 said Dover Nj some guy said is this Mike I said yes and he hung up tried calling back got no answer. Today dec 5 2014 I got the IRS scam claiming jail if I didn't pay them back taxes of $4000. When I called the number back 415-234-9734 this chick answered the phone pretty quick , first red flag she answered her own phone and it was quick if any one has ever dealt with the IRS you would understand. Do not give them any info they can sound legit and quite threatening on the phone.

They keep calling from different numbers, my caller id dosn't show the ph# just shows different citys in ca on the ID but it is the same message telling me to call Julie Smith at 415 234 9734. IRS MY [***] !!!!
