415-251-8000

After receiving several calls from 415-251-8080 I talk to someone identified himself as IRS Attorney saying that my case is referred to him as someone who owed IRS over $7,000. I said that I never received any letter from irs to acknowledge me about it. He said that if I don't pay it today I will be arrested the next day. I said to him that I don't want to be arrest I only have $ 1,000 for my rent can I send it to him and make a payment arrangement for the rest, he said yes. I was very intimidated and paniqued; then he gave me the number: 415-251-8080 as his direct number to call him for instruction on how to send the money to him. I wonder, should IRS act like this to customers.

There is a fairly common IRS or "tax scam" being practiced by scammers in both Canada and the USA.
