Some chick called with a thick accent said she was calling from "Fortunit" but pronounced it wrong.

She didn't seem to know why she was calling or who she was calling for (made up the name "John")
Then didn't want to give her own name!

After we got rid of her we got a call 5 minutes later from 617-465-3241 from a guy named Mark who ALSO said he was from "Fortunit" but this guy spoke english pretty well. We put his dumb ass on hold till he hung up.

I'm not in IT - but in Data  --- I DID sign up for Talend recently and that's about the only thing I've given my number to... is it possible you guys all signed up for Talend as well????

I suspect Talend.  I've been getting a lot of spam from them recently

It seems to be a marketing ploy to get you to return the call and listen to a recording from Pantha (spelling?? ) Software.  
They are selling interactive marketing

I answered with the company name and my name, like I'm trained to do. I said hello twice and there was nothing so I hung up. I hope someone figures out who this is, extremely annoying!

Called at my office. I'm also working in IT.

These idiots called my home phone and asked for me at 7:45am.  We don't usually even answer 'Unknown Name', but my wife couldn't see that on the phone she was near.  She just hung up.  I do plan to complain to the FTC.  These jokers are annoying people all over the country at any hour from the sound of it and need to be nailed.

This company (INFOR) calls back to back, to back! This morning alone, they have called over 25 times already and it's only 10am!!.  They use over 23 different RANDOM numbers and ask for random employees, including the CEO.    I refuse to answer these calls anymore.  They are calling as I type this...LOL

I also work in IT.

I received a missed call on my cell phone number from this number 415 329 0808.  There was not a voice mail.  It was the first time I received a call from this number.  I have always worked in high tech in my career and just started working for a new telecommunications company several months ago.

I got a call from 4253290808 & when I pick up this lady introduces herself from Micro Focus & wants to inform me on new version of Rumba - 8. When I tell her I have no association or knowledge of Micro Focus she quickly tells somehow my phone number is associated with a serial number & that normally Tim or some other person handles this. She was sort of going on & on & I wanted to close the call. She mentions that she'd remove my number from the list. The tone of conversation was odd & it came across as though she was indirectly phishing for information. She didn't have my name or last name. Maybe they were just validitating this number is good. Anyone knows what the proper action is when things like this happen? I'm in software as well.

This is obviously some bad marketing scam and I bet the similarity of all who have commented is that they are all listed on Fran Data. This started once I registered my company, yes in IT/Computer related. If all have received mail, calls and email from this company, I can almost guarantee you it is a direct result of that listing.

Anyone in IT/Computer who attends trade shows, conferences or subscribes to the trade rags has been put on the lists and sold and resold.

These telemarketing calls are usually lead generation calls. These are outbound call centers (US and overseas) with predictive dialers pumped full of our numbers from these lists. Usually the callers know very little about what they're pitching. They're just generating leads - getting you to agree to be contacted and so on.

They're on a run...just hit me at 5:03 pm. I didn't bother to answer, and yes, I'm an IT person.

Received a call from this number on my company cell phone and I let the call go to voicemail.   All I can hear on the message is two beeps then they hung up

Now they have my number!  I am also in IT (or used to be) and they just started calling my work number.  They leave a voicemail message, but there is no one speaking on the message.  Just a lot of background noise!

Received a call from "Alan Greene" for my boss but this man had an India accent. He said he was calling for his boss, "Dermot McNulty" but would not say what the call was regarding.  I asked the company name and was told it was "SAB".  He wanted voicemail but would not leave a message with me personally.

Called twice.  Called from Enterus(sp) or Interous(sp) sells switches, routers, and other networking equipment.  Wanted to setup a meeting so they could visit and discuss selling us equipment.

Just got the call 5 minutes ago. No answer, infact they sat on the line for a few moments and then hung up. I quickly googled the number and ended up here. I am also in IT. Can't be a very successful campain for them. Weird.
