I don't think it's google voice because I have google voice setup on my SIP1 and CallCentric on SIP2. This call came through on my Callcentric history and not my google side. I have my IPKall porting to my Callcentric account which both ring my IP Phone.  This is some registry test by IPKall.  It is testing for connectivity to an SIP account that matches or to allow users of an SIP to be aware of porting.  There is a purpose for the calls but I would like it to be more forward with intent instead of being autonomous.  In your case it might have been because you ported IPKall to your google number. So it was checking your connectivity and alerting you of a connection to your account.  Not very effective at alerting but who knows?

Also check if it showed up in your google voice as an outgoing call since you may have dialed it after the call came in to your SIP device and used your google on your sip device as your primary outgoing.  It may have been a simple <- or -> error on your part and you thought it meant incoming when it was your call back to the number.

This is just the automated verification system checking that you are a real person and that the number is connected to a phone.  You get it about 12 hours after signing up with IPKall.  It is a simple unobtrusive thing and a small price to pay for the fantastic free service provided by IPkall.

Yeah, I got called from this number at 6 a.m. EDT. I quickly answered but no one replied and call immediately terminated. I wondered who had callled me and searching the web I found the answer here: IPKALL.

As already stated among the responses, this is an AUTOMATED CONFIRMATION CALL from IpKall following signing up for a new number. The call is NOT from your SIP-URL/VoIP provider.

Why bother to continue to post new "replies" in this thread.  The number is LEGITIMATE ... albeit a one-time annoyance.

Then, at least it lets people see who is calling - that's why most people post here!

You don't have incoming call filtering?  I don't allow my phone to ring without callerid name information (on this line)

I did miss this call about the time I put a phone number in my name.com whois

Its ok. Its only a verify call. Not meant to herass anyone, it is an automated ring
I do not thikng its meant to even be answered. I saw it in my pbx call logs
and confirmed as I had signed up with IPkall. You do not have to answer
this call, if you try it would simply hang up anyway, just let it ring and
it is not for many rings, only 2 or 3 I got. In fact since the line was
not routed anywhere, it just hit the IVR the "welcome message"
that you get when you call into our pbx, so phones extension did not
ever ring here its just to tell the ipkall that your system is all
hooked up and ready for use.

if it's from ipkall; there's no reason for it. you suppose to get an incoming call within 72 hours of signing up or it gets deleted.  This number called at around 12:30am eastern standard or around 36 hours after signing up for me which i ignored.
