I recently searched for personal loans i filled out 2 applications then i started getting texts and calls from different numbers but i dont know how i answered the call from 415-506-1324 and sure enough caller identified himself as a representative from lending club to inform me that i had been approved for a $3000 loan. I really kind of got excited because i really need that money this happened 3 days ago. So i was asked to make sure i didnt have a negative balance in my bank account and i said i would go deposit later. I kept getting the calls from the same number and then i was told that if there was a more convinient way to make my bank account positive if i sent the noney to them from a rite aide or cvs store. So i thought alot easier & faster so i was asked to buy a google play gift card in the amount of the negative balance in my account so i did thenn i was told that i had to pay 220 because it was a the fee to transfer money from a diffent state. So i bought another google play card and ofcourse gave him the scratchoff code to process payment after that i told agent is that all i have to pay because i have no more money and i already borrowed the 220 from my mom and he promised that was all. A minute or 2 later i was told i had to pay 410 to hire a consolidator because of my poor credit score. He convinced me to borrow the money from someone cuz i was gonna get my loan within 10 minutes after paying that. So again i bought the card. So i got scammed for $730. I am son mad at myself for being so dumb but ive literally been hiding from my landlord & when i was told i was approve for 3000 dollars i got very happy. So now im not only hiding from my landlord but im also hiding from the people that let me borrow the $730. Now i am in a bigger debt. Does anyone know if i can get a refund on the ggogle play cards?

Thank you for posting this and sharing it. I got a call from the same number but they left a voicemail. They also said were from Lending Club and could get pre-approved loan of $5000. Or $3000. Do need the money but figured might have been a scam.

I had a similar experience. Didn’t give them any money, but when they said they needed to “confirm my identity by sending me 1,000 and have me wire it back to them through Western Union” I became extremely suspicious. I told them to call me back in an hour and I contacted Lending Club directly to confirm the details of the loan. They didn’t have an approval on file for me and it was in fact a scam. I put a fraud alert on my bank account and refused to take their calls after.
