Vehicle Warranty Scam

Was also contacted about this scam from the numbers 416-000-1538 and most recently from 416-000-2297. They sure seem to have a lot of numbers! I wonder how they got my cell # though?

Received a call from this number on Feb 24, 2009.  Didn't bother to answer the phone.  Tried doing a reverse phone look-up on whitepages.ca.  Said the number wasn't a valid 7 digit number.

Received four calls from 1-416-000-4463 in the last week. The calls were made to my cell phone. I never picked up the call and no messages were ever left on my voicemail. I called the number back from a different phone only to get a message telling me that my could not be completed as dialed.

it sounds like they are using an international dialing code (+41 - Switzerland) to mask as a San Francisco Area code. this smells of a SCAM

Two calls this week. Damn annoying.

I have recieved about 5 calls this past week from this phone number. It goes right no voicemail but there are no messages sent. I dont answer because I know that its that stupid car warranty thing but this has got to stop! This is my cell! How did they get the number?!?

just got this call right now.  i didn't answer, but they left an empty voicemail.  i'm pretty sure this is that warrenty scam though, because last week i got another 416-000 phone call and that recorded a message on my voicemail.

these [***] are trying to waste my airtime! grr!

I am receiving these phone calls on my blackberry.  I would appreciate not receiving them anymore as this BB is for work.

I have been getting random calls as well.  Not only from this number but also 202-495-7170.  The ridiculous thing is if you call your wireless phone company they can't even block these numbers for you...what are we supposed to do now???

I just got a call from this number today but I didn't pick it up.  
I have received calls from: 416-000-1397 and 416-000-4463.

This needs to stop! Is there a way to block them/find out who is making the calls?

same here.  this has been going on for almost a month now.  is everyone here with Rogers as well, or are Telus numbers affected?

I have been getting calls on my cell phone as well, and i'm with rogers

the car warranty calls are from 416-000-4469, 7954 and 4463, 818-870-9191 and got the 202-495-7170 as well.
the strangest one would be 310-599-9117 which is a california #... how the hell did they get my cell?...

did anyone here register their numbers on the do not call list site? that could be how they got the cell number, but i tried to do it before but said it didnt work...

i'm with telus and i've gotten about five calls total. when they called my boyfriend he let the call go to a person and told them he wasn't interested and they never called again.

... and all of these calls in the last few weeks to my Rogers cellphone no less. Called Monday, March 2, 2009 at 1:31 PM EST. I've noticed that they tend to call midday, with the occasional call past 4:00 PM EST sometimes. In any case, none of these calls are to my home phone.

These phone calls haven't been only targeting Rogers Wireless customers - I believe Telus customers and Koodo customers have been targeted as well. To the best of my knowledge, I've not submitted my cell phone number to anything that would have had my number sold to nincompoops that would call over and over again from different numbers. Seriously, this "416-000" list of numbers calling me repeatedly is getting really annoying.

And I did not register myself for Canada's Do Not Call list. So unless someone hates me and signed me up for it without my knowledge/consent, then something else must be going on.

I have got calls several times from this annoying number.

I'm with telus and get these numbers calling frequently too. Anyone found a solution?
