I keep getting phone calls from this number on my cell phone.  It costs me money to receive calls on my cell phone and pick up voicemails if I don't answer.  It shouldn't be allowed.

I just got a call from them on my work phone. I pressed 1 and spoke to a woman with a southern accent. I live in Canada. I told them I don't have a car. She asked if anyone in my household had a car. I said no. She said she will put my number on her do not call list. We will see.

Did not pick up.

Just received a call from this number on my cell. Fortunately I found this webpage and saw that the number was a bad call.  Can anything be done to stop this?  This is my third call from this number or a similar one.

Keep receiving these calls from 3 different numbers, they are 416-000-7793, 416-000-3149 and 416-001-364, this last one is odd. I never pick up so I have no idea who it is but reviewing all this info I now know, thanks.

Not seeing any solutions to this and it has been asked by a few people already, is this fixable or do we just not answer?

I just got the call from these same guys too. It was this man with a southern accent. Reminded me of someone from Texas.

I asked him what this was all about and why they kept calling my phone. He started going on about warranty about my car. And I was like "what? I don't need a warranty for my car!" Then he said "I'll put you on the 'do not call list. Have a good evening.'" and hung up on me.

What the heck. This is has been going on for the past few weeks, but I always miss the calls. Me and my bf have both been getting cut off messages of blah blah warranty on our voicemail.

These calls were recently profiled on the news.  Apparently, some people in the US are utilizing the Canadian "Do Not Call" registry for these purposes.  Supposedly, telemarketers are required to cross reference these do not call listings and remove these numbers from their own databases.  However, since nobody has been prosecuted under the newer Canadian laws people are using this regularly updated list to place solicitation calls and scams.  Fun isn't it.

 My wife and I have both noticed an increase in telemarketer calls, both to our home and cell phones, since we put ourselves on the national list.  I am willing to bet that pretty much everyone who is getting these calls, is also on the "do not call" list.

I recently got a call from this number and didn't answer the phone!!

Got a call on my cell phone from 416-000-7793 at 5:25 pm Alberta time.
Did not pick up...Rogers told me that Govt has asked them to release all cell #s as of Jan 09. That could be the reason why we are getting these calls.

wait, but if the government asked them to stop calling our cellphones in Jan, then why haven't they?

did not answer. did not know number. they filled up my voice mail with their stupid automated answer. i erased it as soon as i heard "may have expired". i have heard the warnings. friends sent email that indicated that call was from Carribbean and cost hundreds of dollars a minute to talk. not sure of that info, but better safe than sorry!

got a call on cell phone from number.  did not recognize number so I did not answer. no message left.  I'm in AB.On Feb 20 at 4:17 pm.

I keep getting calls from these numbers as well!
I got it like 5 times in a row the other day..for some reason, I couldn't answer it ..and today when i had called my brother i got a call from the number at the same time and it froze my phone for a while and I was unable to go back to my other call..

But, when I had checked my call logs though..the number did not show up there..but I'm positive that it is the same number!
