don't pick up if this number calls because no one says anything and they leave no messages!

I keep get calls from this number.I am in the 416 area code yet this number appears as 1-416-000-9713.It leaves voicemails urging me to update the warranty on my car before it expires.I have never owned a vehicle !!!.My kids also get these " spam " calls to their cell phones.

I got the same "car warranty" BS from these people. After 5 or so calls in 3 weeks I decided to stay on the line so I could talk to a person.

I told them that as long as I had owned my (used) car it has never had a factory warranty, so either they have my number confused with someone other person's number or they were harassing me.

The woman on the phone told me that if I gave her my phone number she would put me on their do not call list. Since they already called me I didn't think it was a problem to give them my number again.

But... She told me that "their computers were down" so she would have to write my number down and added it to the system later. We will see how that works.

For the record they called at 08:43 pm Monday March 02, 2009.

Got the call from these jerks on my cell a few minutes ago.Starts with an automated pitch... I've had the call before on my cell and at home... an outfit called Dealer Warranty Services, aka: Word Wide Warranties, or National Dealers Warranty Inc, or Canadian Auto Warranty Services(Google them!). They are based in the U.S but seem to be a moving target in terms of call centers.

I waited until I got someone and told them I'd call the Competition Bureau (Canada) if they called me again. Got the same BS where they asked for my number to put on their DNS list "because their computers were down." Yeah,right.

According to the Belleville ON, Intellingencer, it's more of a scam, than outright fraud: they offer next-to-useless warranties on things like seals and gaskets which hardly fail.
