I'm getting spurious calls from this fly-by-night debt collector two or three times a day, every weekday. Often the calls are dead air, are silent for the first ten to  fifteen seconds, or consist or repeated demands to contact people who I've never heard of. The harassing calls appear to be switching Caller ID displayed number daily, in an attempt to evade spam blocking. Effectively, they've made my number (which I've owned since Aug 2020) unusable for the purpose for which I acquired it - a mobile telephone in a range of numbers assigned to Freedom Mobile.

Unfortunately, true (613) numbers are in short supply for new entrants, mobile "fourth carriers", regional carriers and the like. That means that, when scum like this render a number unusable, yes they are doing actual harm.

So you are claiming because they called your number, you can't use your number any more? I find that hard to believe and just makes me wonder if any of your other posts are just 'a BS story' too.

Reread my post. These are coming in two or three a day, every day. This crap has been going on for months or years. They're also changing between multiple displayed numbers to make this more difficult to block.

That's not the same as dialing a wrong number once, apologizing and never calling again.

How is getting a few calls a day making your phone number unusable? You can't disable someone's number simply by calling it a few times a day. You can block each number as they call you, so why the BS story of an unusable number because you are getting debt collection calls?
Debt collectors have many numbers and they will keep calling until they have a reason to stop. There are many numbers here with stories of the same debt collector calling from many other numbers, but nobody has ever ranted a BS story about their number becoming unusable.
