I got a call from the same number. The man asked for my wife. In the background I could hear a woman talking to someone else. She was saying she was from "Canadian Tire". I told the man my wife wasn't here and he just hung up

I got call from this # too the man was saing that he calling from canadian meat company to cheak if I will be planing to by the product .I was suprise by this question so I start to question him who he is but he start to panic and talld me that he having bad conection and hang up on me .All this time when he tallk to me he was smoking and was stagenly suprise when I answer the phone .so I don't no why they calling maby to cheak if same one home???

I got a call from same # in day time from a lady asking me with my name when I said 'Yes please, speaking'. She responded " Sorry I think I got wrong # and immediatly hanged up the phone.

I think she wanted to confirm name of the telephone owner, which can be used somewhere for unfaire reason, leading to identity theft also. As anyone can pull address fm the net. I am scared now.

This number called me, asked my name and then hung up, much like your own experiences.  Identity theft issue?  I called Bell Canada (310-2355) to report this issue and suggest you do the same.  Hopefully with enough calls to Bell, they will disconnect his/her service rather than be innudated with calls reporting this idiot.

I got a call from this number, I googled just to see who was it. Reading the comments above really worried me. I tried calling back , no reply from the number!!

My Voice Mail picked up the Call (Incoming) answered by an Automated Personal Greeting, confirming My Name in(My Voice, Announced by Me)to confirm a Caller has reached me (instead of possibly the wrong Number/Person).  

My Call Display read: "New Voice Mail"... I checked my Voice Mail for a Message and all I heard was: A sound like a Disconnect (Caller Hung Up, No Message).

I think this is a collection agency or a tracing agency. If you owe money to a company sometimes they hire an agency to find your address especially if your credit report is not up to date. So they call and give any old excuse to confirm they have the correct phone # then they reverse seach for an address. Once they confirm where you live they can start sending you mail about any outstanding debt. I used to work for a collection agency and this is what they did.

this is an actual company my friend does call work for them, they r called Fine Foods. They try to get people lined up so a rep can visit about placing frezor orderrs ect.

This number called, I said hello a thousand times, no response!! I called the number back, they answered "Canadian Fine Foods". Not sure what's up with the calls?? Probably trying to sell stuff!!

Don't be fooled by this company Canadian Fine Foods. They are a scam artist, they sold me regular meats and told me it was the highest grade. Complete lies. They have a F rating with the BBB so now they will calling you as Ontario Fine Foods. Beware.

This company needs  to shut down.  They don't honor their contract terms.  I cancelled via fax (as stated in their contract) I got confirmation that it was accepted and the sales rep called me to ask why I was cancelling.  They cashed a check of mine for 1000.00 and then attempted to get more money by putting my banking information on another customers account.  They refuse to return my money and said they didnt get the fax, but fax machines dont give transmittal successful unless other fax answers. They are on the Provincial consumer beware list and since December 2008 have had 23 complaints with the BBB.  The owner Ron Atkinson is a crook.  I intend to sue them for my money and am going to try and charge them with attempted bank fraud.  I also intend to give them some free publicity.  DONT DEAL WITH THE COMPANY.  THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF.

Quite the story here, Ron Atkinson Gaal and Andrew Gaal operate Canadian Fine Foods.  Consumer Protection Board went to 1200 Markam Rd location, everything gone, phones disconnected and numbers changed now operating as The Food Group.
Family members Norman Gaal and Louise Gaal own Shopco Food Provisioners, same type of complaints, F rating with the BBB, also on Consumer Beware List, failure to honour terms of contracts and return money and surprising attempted bank fraud just like CFF did to me.  CRTC just fined them 10,0000.  This family needs to be put out of business completley.

Another Gaal family business, formerly Canadian Fine Foods, Ontario Fine Foods.  Ugh people like this shouldn't be allowed to operate a business.  BEWARE

Hi "Me Too" and Adrian.  I have a small claims court case with the jerk on Jan.14th, 2011. You say you are a lawyer.... any help or advice you can offer would be tremendously welcomed.  Karen and I had the "pleasure" of having the same sales rep. fool us.  Karen smarten up on time.  I on the other hand got taken a bit farther, accepting partial delivery of their meat.  I am going against CFF lawyer and could really use some help with some questions that I have.  I have a very good case against them, but .... worry about tricks he can use in court.  Please e-mail me at kasia-is@sympatico.ca and hopefully with few of us on board we can bring this scammer down.

ps.  their web site is no longer operating ... I guess it is all Ontario Fine Foods.  Should I change the name on my defendant's claim? or am I still suing CFF?

Many people feel they have been scammed by this company. The Gaal or Atkinson-Gaal family owns CANADIAN FINE FOODS, ONTARIO FINE FOODS, GROCERY GROUP, SHOPCO FOOD PROVISIONERS, BEEFEATERS FOOD PROVISIONERS. They keep closing and opening under a new name. There are a number of ways this company steals from you:
1. they don't ship your entire order, and won't ship it
2. they cash your (one payment) cheque, and also set it up as monthly withdrawals, so they double bill you.
3. they grossly overcharge you for your meat
4. if you try to cancel they take your money anyway, but refuse to send your food

I cant believe, after reading all of these comments that I am dealing with the same company! I have had nothing but a great experience with them. We are talking about The Grocery Group right?
I have never had better meat in my life and believe i wasnt shopping at low end grocery stores prior.
