Just received the same call as most of you.  He asked for Mr *** then Mrs ***. Once I finished answering, he hung up. Tried calling back as it rang endlessly. I just returned from Scarborough where I used my MasterCard. (I live in Cambridge). Not sure if perhaps "Idea" is on to something.

I have not been to Toronto or anywhere near it for several years. I aways pay in cash. I too, just moments ago got a call from this number. No one answered and I hung up. I looked it up and found this. I can't imagine what the purpose for this is. Maybe just a couple of idiot kids with no supervision and no imagination.

It doesn't work if it's not a telemarketer calling you.  This number belongs to a convenience store, they are probably bored and should be fired.  No call registry won't help you here.

Called my # at 1:20 PM Sep. 30, 2009.   I did not answer.  I called back & let phone ring for over 3 minutes with no answer.  I have no idea who is calling and/or why.  The number is not one I recognize.

asked for Mr. or Mrs.  so and so, I wasn't really listening as I figured it to be a solicitor and absentmindedly said "yes".  I went on to say, "who did you ask for? and they hung up..female voice

Ummm, think for a moment. Your phone number is in no way linked to your debit card, at least it shouldn't be. So ask yourself, how could they use your debit card to get your phone number.
