Just received a call from 416-542-8000 with "Unknown Name" displayed on the Caller ID.

I did a reverse number lookup and discovered the number is registered to <b>Toronto Hydro-Electric System Limited - Customer Care</b>.

I don't believe for one minute that they care about me as a customer -- only as a revenue stream.

It is usually a collection call, if your account is overdue.

I had a call from 416 542 8000 my account is under my fathers name and he had passed away last year... The representitive told me that the mailing address was returned, I told him to send the bill out again because I still live at the same adress. At this point the representitive got very irate and said that he can not give me any info on the file... They refuse to send out another bill to me unless my dad calls in or I have to put my name on the account, I have no problem putting my name on it but I just want to pay my bill any suggestions how I can get these guys to give me my balance, they are refusing to send me a letter and I really dont want my power turned off...

Received a call from this #, only caught the last part of the recording that says to call them. Did a reverse look up and found a message from Toronto Hydro 'If you have to report an outage, please call 416-542-8000.' Guess it's their power outage line. However, this is a work number and we don't receive Hydro bills to our office. It's paid through the building management of this business center.

Got a call from 416 542 8000. Asked for a person I do not know. Told him he had the wrong number. He called back 16 times. I do not live in Toronto and never have. Never had a hydro bill in my name.

I blocked the number because the real Toronto Hydro said they did not place that call....It's a Scam....If Toronto Hydro called it would show up as "Toronto Hydro" instead of 'Unavailable'....when will these scums get a life called a job

A voice message was left informing they will be moving to monthly billing from bi-weekly billing. They also suggested getting set-up for online billing too.

I just got this call, sounded like they hung up, but it didn't sound like a person hanging up, it sounded automatic, like a machine. I didnt answer, bc I have no reason to speak with them. I don't know why there was no auto message if this was about billing.

Recorded message from Toronto Hydro informing that they will soon be billing monthly (currently bi-monthly).

Legitimate call from Toronto Hydro. 1 reasons. Changing to once a month billing. Inviting us to switch from mail paper bill delivery to electronic e-mail. She gave me website, torontohydro.com and said I could view my bill on-line, but still keep getting it as a paper mail record.

Thanks for the good information.  I didn't answer the phone and wondered what it was for.

Lady calling said she was from Toronto Hydro, calling if I knew anything about 38 Kensington Place. Said no, never heard of it. Said my home number was the contact number she had, when asked about the person's name that lives at 38 Kensington Place, she said never mind, mentioned something about lawyers involved etc. Told her I was concerned because there is so much indentity theft etc. She said she would cross my number out, and ended the call. So don't know if it really was Toronto Hydro.

Got a call from this number. I had called Hydro about an account change a few days ago and this call from Customer Care was basically to find out if I was satisfied with the service I got when I called.

2:38 a.m. call from this number. I don't live in metro Toronto, don't have an account with Toronto Hydro, and fortunately didn't hear the phone to pick up. No message (unsurprisingly)

SCAM!!!!!!!! Do not fall for this. They are NOT Toronto Hydro.

Called me many times. Left message let call 18006953870 billing department, or disconnect my services. I think it's scam!!

Scammers. They originally called from an 800 number then told me my business line would be cut in 45 minutes if I didn't pay. I played along and started freaking out, asking what the best way to fix it was. They said credit card and online payments would be pending and not go through on time so I had to deposit cash into a convenience store ATM machine up the street from my business... As soon as I hung up, this number called me at least 25 times in 5 minutes. I just blocked it.
