Does anyone know if this is legit? They claimed to be from Ontario Home Protection, regarding Carbon Tax to be capped at $24.99 for the next 5 years. I've been trying to research this but not sure if this is legit or a scam.

Got a call from Ontario Home Protection too. I stopped at the last minute when the caller ask me to confirm my Enbridge account number. I mean, capped at $24.99? I think they will start charging me 24.99 as soon as I agreed no matter what the carbon tax increase will be, another hot water tank rental scam?

Called me to say they had to come in to 'check my backwater valve to make sure that it meets the requirements for my unit'. Sounds like another hot water heater-like scam.

I got the same call to-day.  Strange thing is, the call display on my phone said it was my brother calling - that is why I answered the phone.  I asked the caller (scammer) why she was calling from my brother's number - she just brushed it off and went on with her pitch - didn't take me long to hang up.  This should be illegal.

Received a call from this number regarding enbridge carbin tax increases.  Asked me to confirm the and account #. I didn't believe in that phone call. She started to increase her voice when I cross questioned her. Seems like fraudulent call.

I received the call from same number and talked about carbon tax increase from $24.99 to $ 70 in few time later.when I told him to send email he just disconnected...

Received my gas bill this month. Only to find a charge on it. Not from enbridge gas. But from Ontario Home Protection for $24.99 this is something I did not sign up for. I looked up the company and spoke to them. They told me they signed me up over the phone. This is not legal. This company is a total fraud. They told me that I signed up for 5years. They are crazy. So check your gas bill. If you see this charge don't call Ontario Home Protection. Call your gas company and dispute this charge. And what ever you do don't pay these lowlife scumbags.

Called trying to get money for a carbon offset program. This is a scam.

Same 416 Toronto area code number that called you guys with “Switzerland” displayed as well when I went into my phone history log since I didn’t pick up the call.
Dam. I must have missed their call to let me know that I must have won some $, but first I have to send in $1 million to claim it.
I certainly will answer next time...

Woman called to ask if I had been defrauded by any door to door furnace/HVAC/AC sales people. I responded No. End of call. What struck me is she kept repeating my first name. How did she have my phone number? Neighbours don't have it  and she said my neighbours had reported the suspicious activity. Blocking number.

Same with me.  When I questioned her about trying to get me to switch over to another provider other than Enbridge, she very rudely told that she wasn’t trying to anything and just to listen to her.  I told her I would call Enbridge for details, and then I hung up,  A very rude, pushy lady.  Definitely a scam!!
