Got a call from these guys three times in the past days

Why did you press "2" when their instructions clearly say to press "9"?

I called the company, left a message, and they called me back. The company doing this telemarketing is Silverthorn & Lupolover, Lawyers, LLP. Their website address is http://www.sllaw.ca. It's a scam. They're doing the same old debt settlement scam that is now illegal in the US because so many people were ripped off. It's crazy that these lawyers have brought the same dog and pony show to Canada. One of the lawyers, Mark Anthony Silverthorn, is registered with the law society of upper canada (www.lsuc.on.ca). I wonder if he could be disbarred or disciplined for doing something like this?

Telemarketer/ Scammer for "debt consolidation". The message did not mention the name of the caller. This is very likely a scam!

I got a call from this number, but all the person on the line did was repeat my "hello" - twice, nothing about dept consolidation?!?

Recorded message. Apparently, we are "suffering from a national economic crisis." The nice lady voice  tells anyone with more than ten thousand dollars in debt to press 1. Right. Because those are exactly the people whose lives you want to make more miserable with a scam. Forward the phone number to your local government representative. Tell them we need stiffer regulations to stop these parasites.

I believe this is just a credit card scam, nothing to do with debt. help.  They just want your credit card information.

Message on work voicemail from this number:

"You are receiving this call because you have been selected to receive important information on debt consolidation and may be eligible to save thousands. This is the message that creditors that are hounding you don't want you to hear. There has never been a better time to take back control of your finances and secure your future. Call 226-444-7875 to hear more information on how we can help you right away."

I called back, and got a recorded message, which included: press 1 at any time to leave a message for someone to call back, and press 9 at any time to be placed on their do-not-call list. They provided another number to call to get back on their list: 416-628-6082

6 Jan 2010I received a call from Graham.  He offered me everything I wanted with Bell at an unbelievable price.  First of all, this company is Iristel Inc.  who has absolutely no affiliation with BELL.  If they answer BELL, they are illegally answering.  Bell wrote me back and advised that they have received numberous complaints about this company and this number.  DO NOT PROVIDE PRIVATE INFO!!
They are currently under investigation.  I was told if I wanted to pursue this further to file a complaint with  www.phonebusters.com or www.recol.ca.

SL Law is the best debt settlement company in Ontario

is this guy a fraud\scam or is he for real as i just signed up to him but didn't make my first payment yet but confused not about him by the info posted here can anyone confirm and post any info they have as proof ty.

can you give me any info you have proving this as i am currently in an agreement with him and need more info if this is a sacam or not.

Terrence = caca de toro, schill. Lupolover is a NY/NJ attorney doing debt settlement. He agressively telemarkets through Premier Debt Resolvers.

I too signed up, because it all reads legit,how do I get out of it?
Someone please help, I have enough trouble as it is.

Mark Silverthorn helped me out!  I have been in this program for 1 year and they have already settled 2 of my debts!!

So does lying on the internet pay well? Does your mom know you try to trick people out of money for a "living"?
