Got a SMS text from them asking if I was free on certain date and time to be part of an online study group.  It was like 2 or 2 hours long and pays $180. They claim to be WRS LLC, so researched and came up with Wilkins Research. If it is them the BBB says they're legit

You should have taken the time to read the complaints.  It seems they have a lot of problems actually paying.

they can spoof the # that’s linked to the name of a legit co (regardless of their positive or negative BBB rating) so you think they’re legit but it’s not them who are really contacting you. random scammers are the one contacting you. beware that you can’t reply to the text directly or call - you have to click on the link and when you do the scam begins.
legit polls don’t pay a “too good to be true” amount of money and most don’t pay anything at all in order to keep the responses of people to be based on honesty not motivated by money.
they prob won’t pay you AFTER they just stole all of your personal info when you fill out the form that believing you’re getting $  for your time.
i just got a text from the same # from tennessee offering me $10 for 20 mins survey but there is no co info. 99.99% of the time it’s a scam. don’t fall for it.

doubt it’s a legit co that’s why the co won’t pay. a scammer is spoofing a legit co.

got a text from this # (area code = tennessee) asking if i would like to take a survey as “a resident of NJ” would like to take a survey that pays $10 for 20 mins.  with the option to opt out.
it’s totally a scam. uhm i never opted in. when you reply to optout that signals to them that this is an active cellular # and then they sell that info to other scammers.
i never respond or opt out. i never get any more texts even though i never opted out.
    scams aren’t obvious sometimes.
selling active phone numbers is a huge business.
i blocked the number this time.

Are you seriously that stupid?  There is absolutely no reason for them to know that but I would really like you to justify that statement.

I must say though that you seem to be a fountain of misinformation and paranoia.

Sounds like you are probably "m" and are back here to whine about your erroneous posts being taken to task.

I got an email from this exact number, contacting me via text.  They are offering $300 and I have participated in focus groups before...but I'm going to let this one pass.  Nope!

Text spam to follow an anonymizing link "xtrq.co", which is invalid and seems to be a typo of the spam link "txtrq.co" above. Text does not identify sender:
