- Mike replies to Shill AlertFunny thing is that It doesnt seem that anyone of these posters on this site has claimed that they have been scammed by this company so Im not sure how these posters came to that conclusion being that they havent said anything at all about actually being scammed....if these guys have been in business for over 4 years....and they have a surety bond and are ACA certified then its not likely they are scammers as no one has actually ever said they have been scammed...just a thought....a simple solution would be for people to pay their bills so they dont get called or sued...its that simple.
- Sir Bedevere replies to Mike| 6 repliesSay "Mike", could you tell me how you happened to find this discussion? What web search led you here?
- Resident47 replies to Mike Carney| 1 replyIt "makes perfect sense" for a process server to call his own target first? Brother, you are a trip. How should that play out?
S: "Yes, this is Deputy Sheriff Brickbuster, I'm looking for Ledger Lee Brook?"
B: "That's Broke."
S: "Forgive me, sir. I'm calling because I have some legal papers to give you. Will you be home this afternoon?"
B: "Uuuh, what's this about?"
S: "Says here you've been sued by Hugh O'Biggtime."
B: "I see. Well, my shift at the homeless shelter starts soon, so today's no good."
S: "How about tomorrow same time, maybe 2:30?"
B: "Could you make it one? I have a dental appointment."
S: "Hmmm ... sure, I think I could fit that in. One PM, done. See you then, okay?"
B: "I'll be waiting ..."
} "how are consumers going to get mad"
Why, you wouldn't be cheesed off if some stranger on the phone posed as a process server and lied to you about some moldy debt that was never yours or doesn't exist? Someone who wants your money and breaks state and federal laws six different ways to get it commands your respect because his boss pays tribute to a collection industry lobby group?
} "Actually I am a very real person and Im not sure how you can fake a post on here"
I believe that you are bodily real, but your shill story needs editing. You might also want to decide what your name is while replying in the same hour to Agren on a different database site.
http://whocalled.us/lookup/4253157304 - Mike replies to Sir Bedevere| 5 repliesThe same way anyone did....I hired these guys and I did my research......google is full of info...you think I would pay someone and not research their credibility? I just get upset when I see people make excuses because they dont want to pay thier bills...and they blame the people we hire to get our money back when we provided a service to these people when they needed it...thats all....im not backing these guys up but I can say they have given me results and that is all that matters
- Mike replies to Resident47Ive gone after people myself without hiring a 3rd party to file my small claims matters...Ive just found it easier to pay someone else to do it....but I do know that I had to hire my own process server and the address needed to be verfied before I would shell out 100 to 150 bucks to hire the server. I usually called their landlords if I could but sometimes you can only verfy if someone still lives there by calling them directly....it makes sense and as far as moldy debt is concerned 9 times outta ten it is valid it just hasnt been paid for awhile and people will use that as an excuse to get outta their obligations....I dont agree with it but its not my business....whats my business is the people that owe me money and how I can get paid back for the work I provided....their is always gonna be a scammer out there who is a complete scum bag and they are usually the ones who complain about being called when they agreed to it in the first place when they signed a contract.....Idiots....
- Sir Bedevere replies to Mike| 4 repliesBut what possessed you to search on their *phone number*? That's pretty much the only way you'd end up here.
- Shill Alert replies to Sir Bedevere| 3 repliesThe boss tells 'em to do damage control on 800 notes and here they are ... the last batch got outed as fakes, time for the admins to come back and clean up again. Things must be slow in the boiler room heheh.
- Mike replies to Shill Alert| 1 replyLol if you run Sound Credit these posts come up that is how I came across this site....as far as damage control as I said previously Im not condoning what these recovery companies do...god knows Ive had a few bad experiences myself...but after reading these posts I looked into their business license because I to was a little worried because I had retained their services. I found out that they are licensed and bonded and also accredited with the ACA so as far as your stupid admin comment about damage control I think that is ridiculous. I could care less about what people have to say my only concern was whether or not I had retained a legitimate company. But as far as this website administrator is concerned he/she sounds like they are either very irresponsible or dont pay their bills because to bash a company who generally has no complaints by either the Attorney General or the FTC and has a B rating through the Better Business Bureau either shows that this person has a complete resentment for collection companies or is just trying to stir up trouble because clearly by researching these guys its pretty apparant that they are licensed in every way to do business in Washington without a single complaint or police report of any actual fraud taking place. Im not siding with anyone here just cleary making an obvious statement for what I can see by looking up this companies credentials. Normally I wouldnt waste time on something like this but some peoples idiocracy needs to be checked especially when the proof is right under their noses.
- Jen WI got 2 phone calls with voicemails left on my boyfriend and my grandmother's phones today, one message stating Donovan Young and the other stating Mr. Young and he stated in both that he was contacting me or the legal representative for me as I was being named a defendant in a case, repeated several times that it was a legal matter, in the voicemail to my Grandma she said he left the company name of Brooks and Cline? Or something to that effect but either way with BOTH of those voicemails stating that it was a legal matter, I plan on giving them a call tomorrow when "Mr Young" which is an ILLEGAL alias as WASHINGTON collection laws dictate that it is ILLEGAL for any collection agent to use an ALIAS, I will have a lot of fun letting him go through his legal threats from his cubicle. Then when he's had his say, I will inform him of HIS mini-miranda rights, which are REQUIRED to be provided TO ME on his first contact with me, which informs me of their attempts to collect a debt, in which any information obtained will be used for that purpose. The fact that I am in IOWA and I know for a FACT they don't have a legal attorney in their offices that is licensed here, so the threats (WHICH ARE ILLEGAL IF THEY ARE NOT A GUARANTEED ACTION) have been recorded on both saved voicemails he left for me at my family and boyfriends #'s, which is also pretty borderline if not illegal to do as well ... 3rd party collection agencies are NOT supposed to give out any information regarding a debtor's account or "case" as they refer to it ... to contacts of the debtor, only the debtor themselves, after they have been verified as the correct person the bill is owed by. I need to figure out by then how I can record a call on my cellphone, not sure if mine has that option but I will inform him it's being recorded AS IS WA LAW before he goes on his lil rant about my legal matter, so that when he catches himself up and finds out he is harassing the family of someone who worked YEARS in WASHINGTON STATE as a COLLECTION AGENT herself ... it will all be recorded by consent, which is also required in WA state. I know people who have worked for this agency, they came over to an agency I worked at in Everett, WA (Sentry Credit) and that agency doesn't have a shining rep for following FDCPA laws either. But what I do know, is that you CAN and SHOULD contact the Attorney General, and let them know that they they have violated at least 1/2 a dozen FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) laws which are governed by the Fair Trade Commission act. Just mentioning the FDCPA and FTC will probably get me hung up on ... those are fighting words when they know they have just broke a butt load of laws, will most likely get fired, and can be held personally responsible for ... last I checked up to $1000 individually, let alone fines and charges against the business. SO ... folks I recommend finding out how to record conversations, I encourage you to call him back and let him know you're taping the call and see what he trips up on, if it's only one person which ... man looks like he makes his rounds ... otherwise it's probably an alias covering a couple weasels behind it .. I can't wait to call in the morning I have been WAITING for some dumbass to try this [***] with me since I am fully aware of what CAN and CAN'T be said. They are brazenly breaking laws they are trained on from the get go ... there isn't any claiming stupidity on this they are required to be trained on it! Have fun, hope this info helps anyone else like it's going to help me ... bring it on Mr. Young!

- Sir Bedevere replies to Shill AlertYes, that's the point I was making.
There are pretty much only two reasons people do a web search on a phone number:
• To investigate a number that's been calling them
• To "massage" the reputation of a number they know is behind some kind of scam - Sir Bedevere replies to Mike"Mike" sez: Lol if you run Sound Credit these posts come up that is how I came across this site
You must be fairly stupid to post such an easily-detected lie. I did the search you suggested and this thread wasn't in the first 10 pages of results.
You've officially been outed as a shill. - bullwinkleWell, this jerk is back at it again. I will be talking to the State Attorney General and Federal Authorities in the morning. Donvoan, if you are reading this, you need to pull your head out of your [***] and go straight for once. You ever seen a crook not get caught?

I was served with a summons yesterday at my job by some [***] who apparantly waited out in the lobby for over an hour for me to get off. It listed Sound Credit dba Brooks & Lee Modern Investments as the plaintiff and it does seem to have a case # filed through Snohomish County. After reading these posts when I did some research I am wondering if this will help my case at all? Can I print out this stuff and use these comments as part of my response? It says I have 20 days and from what Im reading it looks like this companies credibility isnt that good....is there any advice any one can give me minus the usual cease and desist? I dont even see a contract in the paperwork that I received showing that I owe this money? What to do what to do?........- Caller: 425-315-7304
