- Mac425-354-1563: I believe is an agency out of Bothel, Washington. Accroding to what I've been researching it's a collection agency. Annoying, is what they are. I'm wondering how they even got my cell number. They are also calling under 877-233-8527 and 866-212-7408. Report them to the Attorney General. I live in Washington and am going to suggest an investigative reporter from one of the news channels get involved. This is ridiculous. I get so many calls every single day and I refuse to answer them.
- hdale74been calling many times asking for my married daughter. she called them back but they refuse to give any info unless she gives her personal info which she refused. I did the same thing as some of you - i hit the button as if i was her. when i told the woman no one lives here by that name and please remove me from their list, she got so rude and shouted that she would not remove my name unless i answered her questions. i told her i looked her number up on the internet and then she really got mad. i threatened to report her company but sadly i think there is nobody in our government who cares.
- Matt replies to concernedDitto. Interesting how man has made life so convenietly nice & easy and convenient & easy how man has made life so miserable.
- pissed offI have had several phone calls from this company (later identified as RPE) for the past few months. Here are the two most recent calls:
4/22 at 5:50pm from 425-354-1563, caller ID - "Washington Call"
4/19 at 2:00pm from 425-354-1563, caller ID - "RP"
They will not leave a message if an answering machine picks up. If a person answers you receive a pre-recorded message saying they are looking for (insert name) and to press 1 if you are this person, or press 2 if its not you. They also leave a phone number - 888-745-9332 and a 7-digit reference number for you to provide when returning the call.
They call asking for someone who has my last name and first initial but is not me, isn't a relative, isn't anyone I've ever heard of. I'm guessing they got my number because it is listed under my last name and first initial only and figured they'd give it a try to see if it was the person they are looking for.
The first time I dealt with this I called and, unlike some of the other posts on here, got to speak with someone straight away. Explained that they had the wrong person and asked them to stop calling. The guy I spoke to was courteous and said he'd remove my number within 24 hours.
The calls started again though, for yet another name. I just got off the phone with a female rep and explained the story, wrong person, stop calling, etc. She asked for my number and said she'd take it out of the system. I told her I'd already gone through this the last time I called and that I was on the do-not-call list so do not call me. At this point the call took a turn for the worse when she said "are you done?" I said "excuse me?" and she said "are you done complaining?" I replied "yes for now but you'll hear back if you don't stop calling me." She said "24 hours and your number will be removed" and hung up.
I have since filed a complaint online with the do not call registry and, in retrospect, wish I would have asked to speak to a supervisor about the rude treatment I was given. Judging from some other people's experiences that may have only made things worse. We'll see how long it takes before I get another call from RPM.- Caller: RPM

- Lo P replies to CWDI just signed up on "FreeCreditReport.com" which isn't free by the way, and all of a sudden I am getting calls from this same number 425-354-1563. I just refuse to answer it!
- mimsy replies to FabianAdd one more number to block for this company-410-202-0027. Same company out of Salisbury Maryland. Sometimes it comes up as Salisbury, others, Receivablesperf. Good luck. with me they ring three times and hang up, and no messages ever. At least 3 times a day. I just ignore calls I do not recognize anyhow.
- BLPI also signed up for a free credit report through Privacy Matters in July. Since then I've received numerous calls from numerous agencies (some of them linked to the same parent company per another person's research), all claiming I owe for bills that are either paid or are not mine, & all for bills that in excess of 7-10 years. DO NOT admit to being the person they are looking for. Once they have a name connected with a phone number, it snowballs into an uncontrollable mess of numerous companies attempting to extort money for bills not owed. If possible, DO NOT answer the phone at all unless you know who is calling. DO NOT "play along", it only gives them the ability to re-activate the bill after the SOL has run out & falsely assign it to you, or make false claims to the reporting agencies when they run out of other tricks to skirt the law. If you do accidently answer the phone, tell them you have nothing to say, & hang up immediately. I wish I could give better advise, but it's all I've learned so far. This is a scam designed to extort money illegally.

- BillI sued these people and forced a nice cash settlement out of them. It was quite satisfying!
I check back on these forum every now and then to see if these SOB's are still up to their old tricks, and it pains me to see that they continue to victimize people on such a large scale. Here are my suggestions, based on my experience:
Document all calls. Keep detailed notes. Never provide these people with any information. Regardless of what they say, you are under no obligation to prove yourself innocent. Download a copy of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and familiarize yourself with it. If you send a cease-and-desist letter, use certified mail. Your receipt has powerful standing in federal court.
Do not count on the FTC or any state attorney general to do anything to defend you against these people. They simply will not act. Don't even mention the Better Business Bureau; they have no enforcement power, and the RPM representatives will understandably laugh if you threaten to report them.
There are law firms that specialize in consumer protection, and you may find one that will represent you on a contingency basis. That means you can smack these SOB's not only with a statutory settlement for yourself but also for attorney fees--and with attorney fees, the sky's the limit! You can use this fact to really stick it to the "collectors."
The dirty secret of the "collections business," I learned in the course of my defense against them, is that they usually have no legal claim against those whom they harass, even if the purported debtor really owes a debt. These "collections companies" are in reality shakedown rackets that buy names and phone numbers of people who may have owed money, BUT THE DEBT IS NOT TRANSFERRED IN ANY LEGAL SENSE. Thus they don't care if you once owed money to Sprint or merely have the same name as someone who did.
So please take heed: This particular company is a frickin' sitting duck, because they're in the U.S., subject to federal law, and their physical address is right out there in the open. Their business model is based on the correct assumption that most people don't know the law or, if they do, won't act on it.
Defending yourself is simply a matter of educating yourself, knowing your rights, documenting every contact with them, and finding the right lawyer. Better yet, find a lawyer who's hungry and will take your case to the next level, making it a class action.- Caller: RPM
