I played along, pretending to be a dumb little old lady. (Actually, I'm a smart little old lady!) They insinuate that they have been referred by "your doctor or another friend". When I specifically asked (in my little old lady voice) if my doctor referred me, I was told "yes". FRAUD
The caller id says: SVC, again FRAUD.
This is the 9th call I've had from this company which has recently changed their name from Senior Alert Systems to American Alert Systems. Twice I've had the very same girl talking to me. When I confronted her about already telling her not to call and having turned them in to the Do Not Call list, she sniped, "And what have they done for you?" and hung up.- Caller: American Alert Systems and Senior Alert Systems

We have SIX numbers between all family members/businesses in our family listed on the DNC list and THE MAIN number they call is our HOME LAND LINE that has been 'listed' to the 'world' for over 30 years in phone books. Its been published for that long and been listed on every business transaction - INCLUDING NATIONAL and INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL - that we've engaged in during that time. It is ALSO 'registered' with all the FOREIGN BASED *US CORPORATION*-used CALL CENTERS such as VERIZON, TIME WARNER CABLE, US BANKS (CHASE, CITIBANK) and others.
I think they are getting our numbers from FOREIGN BORN SCUMBAGS who work for the above corporation AND FRANCHISES such as COMFORT SUITES and INNS (Middle Eastern franchise-ees; front desk clerks, etc.) and places like SAFELITE GLASS company (a NON-ENGLISH speaking CRUD tried to RIP US OFF in FLA in 2013), ETC.
WHEN WE CUT OFF IMMIGRATION - especially from SOUTH AMERICA, INDIA, PAKISTAN, The PHILIPPINES and ALL of the MIDDLE EAST, - and the USE of these OVERSEAS CALL CENTERS - THEN these calls will DECREASE.
NO SHOCK that about 40% of these calls say they are from "FLORIDA". - Slim replies to PegCThis is a rather long answer to some posters who seem to think the scammers use the DNC list to obtain numbers to call, or who think the DNC list does not work. If you are not one of those people, consider exiting this message now.

Now, get a piece of paper and a pen or pencil, and write down those 10 numbers. Here, I will help you, in case your forgot:

Now get ready to write down some more numbers. I want you to write them down in the following format:
ABC-DEF-GHIJ
Yes, I know those are letters, but I want you to use numbers, instead.
Think of a number between 0 and 9 ... pick one from the list I gave above, if you wish.
Write it down, instead of the "A", above
Do that nine more times, writing it down instead of the other letters.
Now, look at the result.
Does it ring a bell?
It should, because you just wrote down a phone number!
Mr Computer is very good at making numbers.
Mr Computer can do what you just did in a fraction of a second.
In other words, Mr Computer can make and dial phone numbers VERY quickly.
Spammers and scammers who know about Mr Computer do not need to register and buy the DNC list.
Spammers and scammers who know about Mr Computer can even dial "unlisted" numbers, or "private numbers" or "brand-new numbers you just got"!
There, now you know all about how spammers can dial YOUR phone number, even if it is unlisted, and even if only relatives know it, and even if it is on or off the DNC list.
I hope that helps prove the DNC list DOES work! It helps prevent calls from registered / legitimate telemarketers, but it is not able to stop calls from telespammers. It is also NOT designed to stop political callers (who usually get the numbers from voter registration lists), calls from charities, or some other companies, such as debt collectors.
