I've received 7 phone calls today in the space of three hours from this company - all from different phone numbers and all recorded messages about obtaining a credit card machine for my new business.  I did register online for a sales tax permit about ten days ago so now I'll have these calls to look forward to every day.  I guess the State of Texas Comptrollers Office's records are public.  I already get about 5 - 10 nuisance calls from telemarketers daily to deal with.  I'm going to cancel my landline service and take my chances with just a cellphone because I cannot stand to deal with this type of harassment.

Each call from a different number but each one a recorded message about obtaining a credit card machine for my new business.  I did register online for a sales tax ID number so apparently we are open game :/ I only use a cell phone. Just got a call from this number- third time over the last 5 days, always when I walk away from the phone (Murphy's law, right?). Doesn't leave a message. Several people complain about only have a cell phone, which is also where I got the call.  I'd like to share a tip I learned (a little too late for these calls)- Google Voice.  Have the number forwarded to your cell, then you can block those numbers as they come in, free!  I wish I had done that before registering my companies. It never ends, so you might want to look at options to update your phone number to your new google voice number.
