- Barbara PSolar has called us from multiple numbers, this one is the latest. The calls are so frequent I couldn't ignore them any more and started answering to say take me off the list. I tell them we are on the Do Not Call registry and to take us off their list. I don't think this is working either; calls just come from a new number, no Solar ID.

- John| 3 repliesThe so-called "Solar" operation is actually a drug money laundering scam that operates in both Northern and Southern California. The drug cartel is from Mexico and they use an India-based call center as a fake front to sell solar panels from a fictitious company in California. Do NOT do any business with these criminals!!!! Don't even bother to answer the phone when these deadly criminals call, and definitely do not offer any personal information to these criminals or buy anything that they try to offer you or you may regret it! They use telecom spoofing software to make it look like they are dialing from numbers such as 669-237-3575 , 432-203-4101 , but just as this is all a fake scam, their number-spoofing auto-dialers are also trying to anonymously phish for ways to launder their drug money! I have reported them to the FCC and law enforcement.

- Bill JRepeated calls - sometimes more than 4 per day - for last two weeks. Won't stop. Don't care that I've told them to remove the number from their list and that the number is registered on the Do Not Call registry. Sure hope this outfit gets fined.
- Randy G| 1 replyI am so tired of these calls. They are often 5-10 times a day. Half of the time, there is no connection if I answer, only to have my phone ring again when I attempt to hang up. I have spoken to someone on that line numerous times and demanded that my number be removed from their list. They continue to attempt to maintain a conversation no matter what. I find it hard to believe that someone in authority cannot stop this problem - it is certainly not an isolated incident.
- Caller: Solar?
- Call type: Telemarketer
- AZ BusinessThey call about 10 times per day and mostly hang up. I asked to be put on the do not call list. Please report them.

- Tamianth replies to anoidCriminals don't obey laws simply said. And changing to a new number? Remember that is generally someone else's old number and brings with it all its calls.
Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.

E-mail: econsumerwb@ftc.gov - WG replies to Randy GMuch of this problem is from foreign criminals using the internet and 'spoofed' US phone numbers.
They are out of reach of US authorities, and their local authorities are corrupt and happy to have the dollars these scammers bring in. The phone companies do not have legal authority to screen phone numbers.
Congress must change laws - and empower the Department of Commerce and the State Department to make any improvement. - BillSecond call from this number, but this time I answered and talked to them a while.
Man with heavy accent (probably India) said they were 'Solar USA' and started a scripted pitch about my energy bill.
I said I had looked into solar a few years ago and was not familiar with Solar USA, and where were they located?
He said California, and when I asked what part he said 'LA' - note their faked phone number is from Texas.
After stringing him along with questions I was turned over to the supervisor - with better India-English.
He said they were "Solar America". Neither Solar USA or Solar America registers as a real company of course.
They had my street address - so I asked where they got it (public records).
I explained that the address they had was old, and I had moved and was renting (true).
When I asked to be removed from their call list he said he would do that (almost certainly a lie) and hung up.
Never got far enough into their script to really find out what they are up to.
Another foreign criminal scam from India call center. (If they actually stop calling I will let you all know.)- Caller: Solar
