Called and I answered and nobody there.

Its a home insurance telemarketing company

This jackwaggon called me and there was classical music playing. A man came on the phone after saying Hello several times.  I asked who was calling and he replied planet earth.

When they called, they interrupted my day by not saying anything when I answered the phone, so I chewed my gum in their ear like a cow! They hung right up! ha!

This is a company that calls you and their system listens for the name you answer by and sells your cellular number or other numbers to third parties such as dept collectors, telemarketers, surveyors, or post it on the the internet.

For instance, if you answer your phone by saying: "Hello, John speaking", they now have your first name.

Suggestion:
If you answer your phone when you see a phone number that is not familiar to you, just answer, "Hello". If the caller does not identify themselves, then say nothing and hang up.  If they call back some time later, and don't identify themselves, block the phone number if you can.

Company claiming to put you at the top of Google search engine. They get phone numbers from domain name whois or other online scannable phone text. These guys are fake and trying to take advantage of people with websites, blogs or web apps.

Got a phone call from this number.  Did not recognize number, so did not answer.  They left no message.

This company calls you and their system listens for the name you answer by and sells your phone number to 3rd parties like Debt Collectors, telemarketers, surveys, politicians, or posts it on the the internet. If you answer your phone by saying: "Hello, this is [your name] speaking", they now have your first name.

If you get a phone number that is unfamiliar, incomplete, 'weird', "Restricted", "Unavailable", or "Out of area":  DO NOT ANSWER.  DO NOT PUSH "1" (or anything else). DO NOT CALL BACK!  Too many nuts out there.  Block or permanently reject the number, if you can.

Robo call claiming to be Google.  Definite phishing scam.

I got the exact same experience

I did not answer. BLOCKED!

Got a 2nd call from this Spoofer.  Now going out to hunt him down and give him a Sicilian Necktie.

This number calls my 800# which has the potential of costing me money.
I returned the call from my land line phone.
All I heard was silence.

Robocall. Google wants my website to be ranked among the top choices when someone searches for my business.

As exciting as this sounds, I blocked the number.

Just called me.  I did not answer based on these reports.

Caller (Ben) was trying to list my new company with Google business listings.  He wasn't able to tell me which of my businesses was to be listed.  Once I shared the company name with him, he immediately terminated the call.

If it's online anywhere, Google has your number.

Hangup about noon PST on 29 Aug 2016. Now blocked.
