This is a nimber that I got a call from today I answered and no one responded. They just hung up

Same here.  Called my landline.  I answered and they hung up.

I got a call and it hung up, I called it back to find that "supposedly" it's a bill collector. However when I called the number the person answering did not answer as if I was calling the number for a business... you know like " Good Morning thank you for calling______, this is ______, how can I help you?" I got a persons name as if I was calling my neighbor. When I stated that someone called me from this number I then was asked if I was such and such... I said yes. I was then told the call was in reference to "A" bill. I asked what bill, I was then asked for my social security number! I said no, I am such and such what bill are you calling about? The person then said to me "I need your social in order to discuss the bill." I said again.... NO! If I've identified my myself your needing my social to tell me about "A BILL" is not happening. I hung up.

Moments later, I got another call and of course I went thru the same crap as before but this time I asked the young lady for her social to verify who she is and she hung up!  Be careful people, please identity theft is off the scale and I find it strange that when I ran the number on GOOGLE, YELLOW PAGES, there's no public info about the owner(company) for this number.

Called, I answered, then they disconnected.  

I have been getting at least 2-3 calls a week from this number. I check the ID and don't answer it and they never leave a message. I think I will try what Confused did and see what happens..

I got a call from this number just a few minutes ago. I answered as I am expecting calls. Said hello then heard a electronic shushing noise then line went dead.

I answered the phone said hello no response and then the line went dead.

called this number and is 1st nat'l collection agency.They are a collection bureau.I don't know anything about if it;s a scam or not.

Call land line ..hung up ..or called back told them to stop calling my number. They call right back on my land line from a different number tried to get my b day and social. Could discuss anything unless i gave them that. Scam!

These calls come from idiots that do not have anything to do with your self but get on the phone and harass the public.
My caller ID shows Local Office with the about phone number.  Next time they call me I will have a loud whistle and blow out their ear drums so maybe they will find a real job.

It just happened to me from the same phone number.  I missed the call and called it back and asked to whom was I speaking with and who do they represent.  She wouldn't give me an answer.  She asked if this is so and so, she said my name, and I replied with yes, and then  She asked for my social security number and I told her, you called me, and I'm returning your phone call, I'm not giving you my SSN.  She then asked for my birthdate, for security reasons she says, and I told her I don't give my private information to ANYONE let alone some stranger over the phone.  She said well then we can't help you, and we'll call at another time.  I told her no you won't, and I hung up.

I dialed 434-363-3314 and they answered with First National Collection Agency.  I hung up.  I have no intention of ever paying any outstanding debt. They keep sending me stuff in the mail and I keep charging!  Fools should know better by now.

I received a call from this number on one of our cell phones so I called it back from a different number. The lady identified herself as being with the First National Collection Agency but did not give me her name. She asked if they had originally contacted us at the number I was calling from and I told her no and gave her the original phone # they called. She said "it will take me a minute. But if this was a wrong number I want to make sure to get it removed" - I had not even told her I thought it was a wrong number. Then after a minute or so she said "we're trying to reach a John Smithers" - doesn't that name sound legitimate? I told her there was no John Smithers at this number and she said she would remove our # from her records.

I've received 2 calls from them - called them back and they hang up.  I have tried to include this number in my blocked numbers and it will not allow me to block number.

Eventually, you're gonna need good credit if you ever plan on living anywhere other than your mom's house, getting a car, and many other things, and all you're doing right now is destroying your credit. I would definitely stop your "plan" now and start repaying that debt.

Got a call from this number, never answered. Then, a few days later, they called again from another 434 number. Persistent ones, aren't they?

Received several calls from this number. I don't know who it is so I don't answer. Once the machine kicks on, they hang up. I don't know who this is but, after reading all the other comments, I am not going to ever answer a call from Lynchburg, VA.

A call came in, rang once, then disconnected. I looked up the area then the number and found this.
THERE IS NO WAY I'm giving anyone an inch..... absolutely no positive answers from me until you tell me who YOU ARE!

4  rings no message   is an India call center scam pretending to be collection but they change area code  depending where the target lives. They got your DNC listed number courtesy of inefficient regulation andtelecoms not doing their jobs.
