    Since the check was fake, it  would have been better to take everything to the Post Office to be given to the Postal Inspectors for investigation as mail fraud.

    Also, you could txt them back that THEY will be investigated by the FBI for check fraud but that probably won't bother them since they are most likely in a foreign country.

    I also received a threatening text from this number that I need to comply with their instructions to email the gift cards to the number assignment and. Said the FBI is going to show up at my door at 10:00am tomorrow.

    It is very obvious that person did nothing, knowing it is a scam. Only the stupidity of a scammer would come up with such a stupid idea that you could be arrested because you refused to participate .
