2/26/16 -  I did not pick up.  Message left by a heavily accented man, something about taxes and the U.S. treasury.  Threat of legal action for failure to return the call.

*Indian Accent*...Did the person sound Middle East like in Indian??

Heavily accented voice stated to call them, the call was about an attempt to file a claim or have a court hearing in front of a Magistrate from the US Treasury.  Then stated if we did not respond that it would be considered an attempt to evade legal action and they would follow through.

Heavy accent male stating he is a Federal Agent with IRS.  Says call to make payment arrangements or jail. Called back, a woman with heavy accent answered, hung up after I asked questions.  Why doesn't the FBI shut these scams down? I don't even think they investigate.

Got a call from this number earlier - went to VM.  Male voice with an immediately-recognizable British accent at the surface which was masking an Indian or Middle-Eastern accent if you listen carefully. Identified himself as James Cafton (sic...something to that effect) from the US Treasury. Threatened legal action if call wasn't returned.  Voice recording sounded general enough to be sent to multiple numbers (i.e. didn't mention my name, no mention of any specific details, etc.), which lends me to feel as though this was an auto-dialer sent to thousands of people.

Clearly a scam. Be careful & avoid engaging.

Exactly, the US Treasury does not call you

Left message on my voice mail. Accented male with name of James Captan or something. Same message as everybody else representing himself as a treasury agent.

Same as above. Scam.

Same deal. Recorded call threatening legal action on behalf of the US Treasury from Texas. I was tempted to call the number just to mess with them.

I also received this phone call.  Definitely a recording - continued after I hung up the phone for several minutes - same message over and over.

I called and told them that I knew for a fact that the IRS would never contact a person by phone and that they could contact me by letter, or better yet, have their lawyer contact my lawyer.  Hung up on them.

They were saying that we didn't pay our federal taxes in 2010 - we actually got a refund that year.  SCAM!!  SCAM!!

Ditto!  Didn't return call.  Glad to see there are places where you can check these things out.

Received the same call, when I called back I told them to hang on I needed to let them know they were on a recorded line....phone went dead, I called back and this time lady answered ask my name, I told her she should already know my name, they called me, she then hung up, and of course like a telemarketer I called back again and told them I was sure if this was the IRS they would have working phone system.  SCAM but I did get to play telemarketer for a few minutes.

Just listened to voice message. Same as others reported. This should be investigated and stopped. I added number to my blocked list.

I just got the same recording, I can't believe people fall for this stuff.

I called this number back and heavily accented lady answered phone.  I ask what company she was with and she said something US Treasury.  She kept wanting my phone number so she could look up my case.  I kept asking her what company and what this was about she finally said my taxes so I said then you are with the IRS.  She stated yes.  I ask her for her name and ID number and she hung up. Imagine that.

Same as everyone else...but I love the telemarketer response from US2!  Is there a place to report this phone number?  It's obviously a scam but I'd think it would also be a felony since they're pretending to be from the Treasury department?

Same crap as reported elsewhere here. US Treasury enforcement.  Bring in front of magistrate if don't comply!

Call from person with heavy Indian accent telling me I had pending legal action and that if I did not call back for his services a magistrate would issue a warrant for my arrest.  Call came in about 7:15 am so it was really annoying.  I called back later and he answered.  When I told me to quit calling me and that I was on the do not call list, he began cursing at me.

Amazing.  This same guy just identified himself as James Paxton.   Months ago when getting multiple calls from a different number the same guy said he was Steve Martin.   Hysterical.  These people keep getting away with this and nothing is done by the government.   I only feel for those that fall for this crap
