Received this same call from 469-544-0742.  Read the NC Atty General's report on this same Card Services company and filed a complaint against them over the NC hotline (1-877-5-no-scam).  Hope the NCAG takes some action.

Some of the original calls that I got from them were from "SENSORLOGIC INC 469-544-0742.  The calls I receive now say "Out of area."

They are violating the following laws (and probably others):

    * Ignoring the federal Do Not Call list
    * Ignoring the Texas Do Not Call List.
    * Blocking the caller ID. Federal law states that ALL telemarketers must transmit caller ID information. The phone number in the caller ID must include a number which is answered by a live person. The caller ID of this company is usually blocked or blank. The caller ID on the original calls stated "SENSORLOGIC INC 469-544-0742. This number gives a busy signal and the company name isn't a credit card company.
    * The automatic dialing and announcing device (ADAP) recorded message must clearing state the name of the company. However, this company's recorded message does not identify the company name. They misleadingly imply that they are "my" credit card company, yet they do not identify themselves.

    * Operator refuses to identify the company
    * Operator refuses to give a phone number

Federal law states that all telemarketers MUST identify the company name when asked. They must also give a phone number of the company. Twice, I have politely spoken to this telemarketer, but was not able to get this information. The first person immediately hung up on me. The second person was evasive and then began taunting me before hanging up on me.

In theory, I could use "Call Trace," but I would be charged a fee and the number would only be available from a law enforcement entity.  I've tried contacting the FTC and the Texas PUC to see if they would act on Call Trace if I use it to identify the caller, but I haven't received a response from anyone.

Does anyone know of a law enforcement entity that would work with someone on this?

I have already received this call three times with the same experiences (hang up on me, scoof at me, etc.)  After reading all these posts I decided on a new course of action.  Next time they call me I am going to give them a whole bunch of fake information on credit cards that don't exist.  I hope they waste their precious time trying to use it and end up getting caught up in a big mess.

I get this call every few days.  It's taken me quite a while to get any information out of them like a company name, Card Services.  Usually when you ask questions they hang up.  I finally got them to give me their phone number and it was a phone sex line.  They won't quit calling.

I looked it up and found it was a phishing scam.

So I've got a new tactic.  An air horn sitting next to the phone.  Now when they call at least I get the satisfaction of giving someone an ear piercing blast.

    Tee hee!

I googled "credit card services recorded message" and got this board. I've been getting these kinds of calls, although I don't have caller ID, so I don't know who/where they are from. If you wait long enough, they tell you to press "2" to be taken off the list. I've done that twice now, but they keep calling. I pressed "1" to get a customer service person and complained to her. She hung up on me.

I read through the comments and messages and it sounds just like my situation. I received a call today in which a prerecorded womens voice asks if I want to lower my credit card interest rate to 6.99%, press 9 for immediate assistance. I pressed 9 and was transferred to a live agent, a women, who asked "Were you interested in lowering your credit card interest rates?" I replied, "Yes". She then asks me for my name. I then asked her for her companies name, and she proceeded to hang up. These people are the scum of the earth. I wished the New York State attorney general would investigate and prosecute these people to the fullest extent of the law. They like to prey on innocent victims, like the uninformed and elderly. My tele number is on the do not call list specifically to avoid getting these annoying calls.  I have caller ID and the telephone number came up as "PRIVATE", which means these people are ruthless low-life criminals.

Got a automated female voice inferring that there was some kind of problem with an unspecified credit card account and to disreguard the message if the account was paid. Then the auto-woman voice gave a pitch for lower credit card rates, press nine for more information. I pressed nine and got a real person.
    I asked,"What company?"
    "Card Services."
    "What card services?"
    "Card Services IS the Company"
"I am on the do not call list. You are not to call me."
"Give me your number so I can take your number off our list."
"You called ME! You take the number off!" "Why are you being such a [***]?"
"I am on the do not call list. Do not call or I will report you"

I have received the same type of automated call numerous times from a "card services".  Normally I hang up.  Today I pressed "1' to speak to an operator.  I first asked who the company was, and was given an indirect answer "we help people get lower interest rates, do you have any credit cards?", to which I asked if they were familiar with the Do Not Call Registry" to which the 'gentleman' rudely told me "Hey Lady don't press '1' again and get off my "fuc..." line - click.  The calling number is masked, as well.

I received a call on my cell phone from number: 214-496-2580.  They asked if I was "responding to the lower your credit card interest call" -- I instead asked how they got my number.  They hung up immediately.

I was getting calls to lower my interest and always chose the option to be removed from the calling list. It did not help and I was getting calls again and again. Once I tried to speak with representative and I kindly asked them to take my number off, they just hung up on me. What to do to stop receiving these calls?

You need to "Opt Out" of credit reports. This will stop all junk mail dealing with credit card offers, insurance offers and best of all----All those annoying "lower your interest rates". You can do this online, by phone or by snail mail. This is the Credit Companies dirty little secret which can be found hidden online and inside all those credit card offers.
