This number (470-245-9998) is WellStar Health System of Georgia, a chain of hospitals and physician offices in norther and central Georgia. It is a legitimate phone number. I've been seeing WellStar physicians for several years now. I've only ever gotten calls from this number maybe two or three times because I stay current on my bills and always pay balances in full. That said, like many healthcare facilities in the United States, their billing system can be faulty or inaccurate at time and leaves much to be desired. I'm fairly good at staying on top of my finances and not letting anything carry past 30 days but sometimes the staff at various WellStar offices do not charge the correct amount for copays or cosinurances at the time of your visit or they leave payments unapplied in their system and this affects billing for future visits down the road.

I got a call today from this number for an outstanding balance I was alleged to owe, but after a little bit of due diligence on my part (Logging into their billing website and reviewing my visits and claims), I pointed out to the representative that I also had an outstanding credit on my account from overpaying a copay for a previous office visit. This overpayment exceeded my current balance owed; I just assumed the credit would remain in their system until the next time I owed money and would be credited towards the next charge but that did not happen. Instead, the credit just sat out there for months and was never applied to any future visits. The representative was very helpful and saw the error of their ways and promptly corrected it. My outstanding balance was returned to $0.00 and I have a refund check for the difference being mailed to my residence soon.

Long story short, it's entirely possible this number may be being spoofed by illegitimate entities seeking to scam people, so please continue to exercise caution if you've never been to a WellStar clinic in Georgia. However, at the same time, their reason for calling you could stem deeper than just "owing on an unpaid debt." Like in my case, they claimed I initially owed a debt but it turned out to be a billing mistake in their system that they didn't catch until I pointed it out to them. If you've visited WellStar in the past, it'd probably be a good idea to review your account online and compare their data against your insurer's claims to get to the bottom of it and ensure everything is in order and accurate.

Sorry for the double post. I meant to add to my original post, this number (470-245-9998) is printed all over WellStar.org's official website and is easily searchable. It's listed as their general customer service phone number so it isn't just a randomly spoofed number that is unaffiliated with WellStar.

Calls alot and no message is ever left.  If it is Wellstar as mentioned above, the caller ID would show that instead of Unknown.  Also everything I have recd states "this is not a bill".  Waiting on updated statement to show exactly what insurance has paid.

This number calls continuously and called ID states Unknown, so I do not answer and they do not leave a message.  If it is Wellstar I would think the caller ID would show that.

Wellstar Kennestone Hospital saved my life when I had open heart surgery.  I am approved for financial aid at 100% yet collections calls me daily.  This number is not some third party it is their business office on Sandy Plains Road.
I owe this money but have repeatedly told them I am disabled broke and cannot pay it.  They treat everyone as if We are lying to avoid paying. I do not lie to avoid debts.  If I dont wanna pay then I dont pay.   No lies needed.
