Many of these "Fundraisers"  will collect on behalf of any organization and some are actually legitimate;  we just don't know the difference anymore. Messages are rarely (if ever) left because the callers want to talk directly to someone to try and gain trust and sympathy for "unfortunate souls".   Even the legitimate fundraisers keep most the funds collected as "administrative expenses", so if you wish to donate, find a local organization (fire, police, etc) to work with directly.

I've been recieving calls like this for years and for the same or similar organizations; Firemans' Fund, Faternal Order of Police, Widows of Fallen Officers, etc.  There just seem to be far more these days.   About 17 years ago i actually met a professional fundraiser.   We both had just moved to this state and we were in line to get new drivers licenses.  I was surprised to learn that people make a comfortable living in the fundraising game.

Oh yes you do.  I have received NUMEROUS calls from the FOP asking for donations.

Call with 'KTires' on caller ID. Let answering machine pick up, they left no message.

This number Keeps calling me never leaves a message. It!s a fake name on caller ID KTires

Keep getting calls from this same number. Reporting it to phone carrier and to FTC.

Caller ID said KTires.  Nobody ever said a thing.

Called at 1:45 p.m. on Sunday. I did not answer, they did not leave message. Blocked them!

Just said 'Atlanta GA'. Left no message on the answering machine.

My local fop calls for donations and if you ever give they will worry the heck out of you from then on.

Came up as KTires on CI.  Didn't answer and never left a message.  I went back into the phone and changed the name to SCAM.  If they call again at least I've already changed the name and know not to answer it.
