    Me
Called me stating I owed a Mastercard from 3 years ago. I informed them that I did not have a Mastercard 3 years ago, that I haven't had a credit card in my name since at least a decade ago. She insisted saying my birthdate was xxxxxx and that I owed $300+ dollars and that they'd take a payment plan of $200. I told her absolutely not, I am disputing this debt, it is not mine and I am not making a financial burden on my family for it. Told her to never call me again, and hung up the phone. Immediately checked my credit report, and as I stated there is NO record of a Mastercard from 3 years ago.

Called several times, demanded I verify my name, dob and ssn and when I refused said they could not give me any info including what company they worked for. Spoke with a supervisor who said the same thing then hung up on me. When I called them back another supervisor said he was going to report me for harrassment because I called them back.

Well no one so far has provided a name for this debt collector.  The one poster probably had it but put down "made up".

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.
