After reading this site, I am more confused!  I already subscribe to the Buffalo News 7 days a week, so why would they be calling me?  Take a 2nd paper for the car??????

I will call the Buffalo News tomorrow and tell them that I want my name removed from any marketing list they may have.  If they wont comply, I'll cancel my subscription!

I just started getting calls from this number, I didn't answer the call, and they didn't leave a message.

I googled the number and arrived here.

They just called me again, I answered and they hung up. I called right back and left a message on their "machine". Let's see if they call back, I would love to talk to them.

That's interesting about the link to Lee Enterprises/newspapers. I recently cancelled my newspaper subscription, and now I get these calls. UMMMM ....

I got a call from this number today in the middle of class. I answered, and got no response. I said "Hello?" a number of times, then hung up. Weird.

This number is also being used by CircSeller.  It is a telemarketing firm that does outboud subscription calling for many newspapers around the country.  If you would like to stop receiving these calls - contact your local paper and ask to be placed on THE LOCAL AND NATIONAL DO NOT CALL LIST.  Every newspaper is required to keep a list of the people that do not want to be called or solicited.  By law, a company can contact you via phone calls for up to 18 months after you have done business with them, unless you cotact them direcly to be added to their local Do Not Call list.

So, if you want the calls to stop, contact you local paper and request this.

Thanks for the info regarding internal company "do not call" lists.  Our evening newspaper recently folded, and I have not yet subscribed to the AM paper (too busy).  But I got a call from this number, and the deal they wanted to offer me was much worse than the standard deal.  They claimed they would match a deal I recently received in the mail but I told them I would contact the paper directly.

I got the call twice, I answered the second time. A woman said she was calling from Yellow Book with a brief survey. She asked if I had received the Yellow Book (phone book) and if the advertising and coupons had come with it. I said yes. She the offered me 2 free weeks of the Buffalo News, saying it would stop automatically thereafter, without me having to cancel. I explained that I bought the Sunday paper at the store that that it piles up too quickly as it is. She one more time offered 2 weeks free. I said I really don't want it. She thanked me and ended the call. After that is when I found I had a missed call form them with no message from about 20 inutes before- I think I had been on the phone.

I don't think they will call again. They only wanted to ask a few questions that took me 30-45 seconds to answer.

I recently installed a land-line phone- yep, going back to the dark ages, so it costs me nothing to answer a LD call. If you have a cell and pay for incoming LD, ignore the calls and look up the website to put yourself on the 'do not call' list and/or call the Buffalo News.

If you already receive the Buffalo news and they call to 'expand' your service, the do not call list may not work, the Buffalo news may have the right, as well as Yellow Book, if they do business together, to call you...unless you call the Buffalo News and tell them you don't want marketing calls.

I just got ANOTHER call. This time the woman said she was from The Buffalo News and offered me the Sunday paper for $1.25 a week. I described my call of only 10 minutes ago. She said "We don;t have anyone here from Yellow Book" So much for them not calling again.

You are right Mike. It is from the Buffalo News trying to sell a subscription. Very, very annoying! Funny too seeing that my phone number is listed with the National Do Not Call List. What's up with that?

Received calls twice from this number and no message on the answering machine - just crackling sounds. Oddly enough as I was looking up the number and found this site, they called again!  Knowing my number is blocked by caller ID, I answered. It was for a local paper here in San Diego  - the North County Times. My guess is it's a telemarketing company hired to increase subscriptions.

If you get a call from this number turn them into the Federal Do Not Call List, if you are listed on it. Then turn them into the BBB. Then report them to your states Attorney Generals Office. Your States Attorney Generals Office will keep your complaint on file and send them an official letter. If they call you again after the AG sends them a letter, Call your AG and huge legal action will follow.

apparently it is a call center that does marketing calls for a large group of newspapers.  The Do Not Call list is terrible.  I signed up my old number and where I had never had a marketing call before suddenly began geting 15-20 a day and they would not quit.  Changed my number and did not register got less...........however they get your number anyway from your "letter to the editor' previous subscriptions, classifed ad placed etc.    I put all these calls in a Annoying caller or do not answer group and ignore them.  They even call at work and when I answer that there is no reply or a long wait then a recorded speil.....I hang up at no response now.
