She almost scammed my 19  year old son, luckily I ended up sending her an email explaining to her that his father would be handling all of the transactions and as a former military child, he knew the "in's and out's" of military shipping.  Here is her last email that I just received this morning, I haven't decided if I am going to play with her or not.

This would have been the 4th reply of this type from Craig's list auto sales in my local area in Michigan.  I have had similar stories and scripts as many that have been shared.  Deployment (2), dead son and fiance (Killed by drunk driver) and also a husband who died of a heart attack and needed to get rid of car.  Does this ever end!!!  I almost lost my money to one of them, but my bank would not allow the transfer.  Praise the Lord.  How do we stop this!!

Hi I saw this and just received the same e mail from Ela clark. Obviously it's a scam but I was just curious how are they getting money if they are handling it through eBay? Just wondering so I know in case I come upon this again. Do they have a fake company they are calling eBay? Sorry for the questions I've just never experienced this problem so I almost fell for it.

My daughter and I have been responding to these adds also.  We were almost ready to send the money through ebay.  What I don't understand is how is this fake if it is done through ebay?  I have always heard if it's too good to be true it probably is....guess this applies here!

I almost fell for this scam . I found the ad  on Craig's list.   I recieved many emails from "Ela".  I recieved the same one you got, however, the only difference was the depolyment date to Afghanistan otherwise it was the exact email. I Googled her name and found other similar links addressing this scam.  Others had recieved the exact same email only with slight changes. I would have lost my money but at last minute I called Ebay.  They informed me this was a scam.  Ebay does not handle 3rd party transactions nor do they use Western Union.

I almost fell for this scam!!  Same exact email as far as content.  However the name she used was " Major Ela Clarke"  selling a 2003 Honda Accord on Craig's list payment through Ebay.  I was skeptical so I called Ebay they informed this was a scam. The money was suppose to be sent though an  Ebay agent in London. There is no such agent.  They do not do transactions with 3rd party nor do they use Western Union.This scammer is very good, all the info she sends is very official looking. Luckily I sent no money so she will most likely move on to the next victim.
