it is a hassle, I know nothing about this # they say the sites are down due to credit or problems with your acct. I have no accounts they could not tell me who they represented. please STOP THEM I WILL CALL MY BROTHER AT THE TV STATION AND REPORT THIS BEHAVIOR.  IT WILL MAKE A GREAT STORY AND LET PEOPLE IN AMERICA IN ON THE SCAM.

They redireted my site and i have no account with them.

Thanks for the info - I don't know how they would have gotten permission to redirect your site

Same here, they redirected my account and site without permission.  Neither my hosting or domain company gave them permission.  My accounts were and are up to date. Who can they be reported to????

1-480-624-2515 / 480-624-2515 is owned by company Free, Inc. having an official website at
http://the-free.net

I've registered many domains with Free, including my site Facebook.com

Free is domain name registrar and web hosting provider based in U.S. and having 2 million plus domains hosted.

It's FreeDirect.org at http://freedirect.org/

plase give me link

They called me twice in about ten minutes from this number and told me I needed to give them my domain name, which I refused to do.  If they were legitimate they would already know it. I told them I was with GoDaddy and they asked me for my customer number, so I knew this was a scam and hung up.

Avoid this company. It will cause you problems. Just hang up.

www.the-free.net aka Free Domain Registrar makes this calls to its current customers on file. It's not spam or marketing call. If you want that Free should not call you then you can opt-out through your My Account settings by logging in. Actually, this calls are useful reminders for domain renewals, hosting renewals etc. And more over their tech support guys call you to find out and help you set up your products correctly. From their press release it seems that the resellers of Free domain registrar also use the same telephone number.

This is GoDaddy's or one of their other company's number

This is a scam. I don't know if GoDaddy is part of the scam or not. But I do believe that this company was able to gain access to my account due to the negligence of GoDaddy. As others have reported this company was attempting to get money for an account that was paid up to date. In my case over 9 months in advance. At my request a GoDaddy associate  changed a domain from my hosting to clients hosting. It was confirmed completed and the site was working fine for months. Yet it was still sitting in my hosting account when this hijacking occurred.  So somehow the website was left unattended although it is fortified with malware. Bottom line... the company is a scam and I'm not sure that GoDaddy isn't at least partly to blame for my problem. HOWEVER, GoDaddy did assist me in fixing the problem.

Thank you for confirming my suspicions. We have a reseller account through GoDaddy (previously a subsidiary of GoDaddy called Wild West Domains), and we received an email disguised as a billing failure notice. It looked the same and referenced our customer number, but the sender's address was from @e.secureserver.net instead of @secureserver.net, and the telephone number referenced was this number. (The regular support number is just two digits off: (480) 624-2500.) Plus, there was no domain name referenced in the email--just an order number, amount, and original billing date of over three months ago. It is very sneaky, so I will disregard since I just checked our account, and all of our domains are fine. I am not very confident that GoDaddy is not involved in some manner. Very disappointing.

Update: I called GoDaddy support (at the original support number), and an associate in the billing department confirmed that it was a legitimate email. They had a glitch in their system a few months ago that caused some orders for a very small subset of customers to not process correctly. When he said that, I remembered that I printed off one invoice from around that time that didn't match up to any charges on my credit card bill. It turns out that this is not a scam after all. I did not have to give any additional information to them. It was just a notice that they would be correcting the original error and charging my card.

this number is a harassment

It's a GoDaddy alternate number - NOT SPAM
