    Yes,
    • The bad guys can spoof or fake what you see on your caller ID, and they can use "real" phone numbers to make you believe the call was from a legitimate organization.

I received a call from this number twice. Caller ID said Tempe,AZ and I don’t live in AZ. I answer and he says he’s from Walgreens pharmacy as well. Asked me if this was, (then said my full name). Then asked for my birth date to verify my records. I told him I dont give my birthday to people that call me on the phone. He said he could give me his number to call back. I of course said, no thank you. Bc what does that verify? Nothing. So then I said, ‘are you calling about a bill I need to pay? If so, I’ll pay when I get the bill’. The. He said ‘no, we’re calling about scheduling your delivery’. I was like what?! I had a baby a few months ago, not needing to schedule a delivery. I think you have the wrong number and I don’t even live in AZ’.  That was super fishy to me. And weird because why would a pharmacy call me about that? Plus I don’t get my meds from Walgreens. I use a different place. So another red flag.

I truly is a phone number for Prime Theraputics/Walgreens MAIL order pharmacy. If you have certain meds prescribed your insurance may require your physician to send the script here, even before you are told by your doctor. Any long term meds, biologics, etc usually have to go thru them. I've been using them since December for my chemo/autoimmune meds. 100% legit.

Curious as to why you are posting here.  Most people posting here have been scammed or have been the victims of an attempted scam.   But in your case everything is just fine.  So.  Why'd you post here?

In any event, if it is from Walgreens, why is it that the robo-greeter does not ID themselves as Walgreens?  I called that number and it just told me to call the number of the"employee" who called me.

Also, out of 27 entries in this thread I count 10 as shill posts.   A 37% shill rate is pretty strong evidence of a scam call operation.

ALso your use of the word "legit" is quite similar to the way shills use it on the 800 number scams directed at financial institutions.

You sound like a shill to me.

They say they are Walgreens and that my doctor has ordered a specialty prescription for me and they want personal information to verify before mailing it to me. I know this isn’t true because I don’t and never have used Walgreens as my pharmacy. Also the only medication I am on is a birth control pill which is not a specialty medication. I don’t trust this. Seems like a scam to me.

Alliance RX called.  They do mail order prescriptions for Walgreens thru Blue Cross Blue Shield.  They are a pain to deal with and make alot of mistakes.  Their web site is useless.  BUT, if you have all day to call them, you can  get your prescriptions mailed to you....free scripts and free mailing...for some medications that I was paying $150 a month for previously.

Folks, keep in mind....this is a legit # from Alliance RX/Walgreen's mail order.  BUT BUT BUT....if their number is spoofed then you have problems.  Some calls will be real legit and some will be scams.  My call mentioned I had sent them an email this morning and some of the contents.  I had so I felt comfortable talking to them.  Otherwise, I would have hung up and called the number I already had for them.  Stay safe everyone!
