received a call from 1-484-589-5692 and the callerd Id has only one letter. I am getting it from last few days almost every day

Came home to a voice message saying, "Hello, (my name), are you there?"  A pause, and then "(my name?)  

A google search lead only to this site to document an unwanted, unsolicited call.

Caller ID says "CHARITY."  Now that's a new dodge!  I picked up and hung up.  AFIC, a bonafide charity will have its name.  Anyway, I make no gifts or transactions by telephone/  Anyone can call and claim to be anyone.  All my charity gifts are by US Mail. :)

These people (male mostly but the last was female) call me all the time and ask for Sasha. Extremely annoying. I don't know what they want or what their game is, but I wish that it would stop. This time the number is identified as "unknown name" - sometimes "I". Maybe it's different numbers but they ask for Sasha.

I received a call on my DNC listed landline today at 1549 hours.  A woman's voice asked for "James."  I told her there is no James at this number.  She said she didn't understand, so I repeated myself.  The voice then said something about having the wrong name but the right phone number and started in about "The Breast Cancer Society of America."  I disconnected.  I have a strong suspicion that I was not speaking with a real person, but one of those A.I. systems instead.  But, seriously, you can't even get the name right??  Plus, I don't trust alleged calls from "charities" because some of them are nothing more than scams in which the target charity sees very little if any of the money because most or all of it goes to the calling service instead and I have a very strong suspicion the so-called "Breast Cancer Society of America" is one of those scams.  http://thestoppedclock.blogspot.com/2010/05/i ... hy-charity.html

This number keeps calling and wanting to lower my interest rate. They have called many times a week. I want them reported and to stop calling me!

800notes is not affiliated with your callers, we are not calling you either. 800notes is a forum for reporting who calls you and any information you may have about the call to share with other forum users. It is highly doubtful that your callers are reading here also. We can't stop anyone from calling you either or remove from a list.

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
