- N.I.N.A| 1 replyI get a call from this number every day.....they called asking for me and said that I was being sued....they told me my SSN and all.but the funny thing is I don't have any credit,so how they got that info I'm concerned and ever since I have been monitoring my credit to see if anything pops up.......my credit report literally has 2 items on it and they are over 10 years old...........I answer my phone and hang up on them and they will call right back and I repeat the same routine they have called me at least 12 times back to back.if u ask for a call back number they will give u a # with whatever your area code is and it will ring back to them.....one of the guys that calls goes by Brian Smith
- Bugged| 1 replyForeign man calls my phone and my work saying I have to call him back or something bad will happen to me. I refuse to call back. Making it hell for me at work!
- Bony| 1 reply*Attention* Some of you people on here MIGHT have filled out one or many loan applications and even though you never followed thru with actually getting any money, these scammers take your application info and act as if you have a loan.
An Indian who went by the name of Brian Spencer first called my cell, then my job. I took my phone off the hook at my job to avoid screaming but he continued to call me back to back non-stop from 3:00-3:45pm. Then called everybody I had listed as a reference on a loan application and proceeded to tell my friends that my social security # is compromised & I owe 672.00 Bullsh#t. I have one CURRENT, not in collection loan with a pretty good company. Besides, I never take out more than 250.00 which would cost around 280.00 to pay back, not 600.00 area.- Caller: UNKNOWN
- no money for free| 1 replythese people keep calling but can not verfiy any info or even the bank this money went and always promise to call back with the info but dont have
- Caller: unknow
- tired of these callsThese people call me repeatedly, if I hang up they call right back. It is always a person, usually a man but this last time was a woman, with a middle eastern accent. They ask for my SSN, well they have it and ask me to verify it. I told her I refused to give this information out, to send me something in writing stating what I owe and who I owe it to. Was told they cannot do that, I told them if they are asking for money from me they most certainly can. I hung up and she called back 3 times! I get calls from many different numbers, they tell me they are in NY or FL

- Former collection agentWake up people on this post, this is not a collection agency, these are terrorist, con-artist hiding behind the phone and using scare tactics to get you to quickly send them money.
Go to 1800 Notes and you will find this scam is posted all over the internet. They are Indian Accent pigs using American Names and calling from many differnt types of spoofed numbers. It's really hard for me to believe that Americans would fall for this scam. Don't ever send anyone money unless you have documentation and really know Exactly whom you are paying. I have read some of these post that people send money and all the Indians have to say is "lawsuit". It's a scare tactic to get you to act and send money without thinking rationally. Also they tell you that you will be arrested. Well you should know as soon as that comes out of their mouth that in the USA you can only be arrested for not paying taxes and child support, nothing else. And then you get paperwork and have all kinds of opportunities and chances to pay your taxes and childsupport. So right then when they say arrested etc. you should realize its a scam. Don't be dum and scammed out of hundreds of dollars, you will never see that money again if you send it to these thieves, and they will keep calling you for more.
Beware, be smart, don't send them any money. Tell them to get lost and report them to all the authorities. Americans wake up and pay attention. What collection agency would risk using these tactics. These are terrorist. A legitmant collection agency will not use jail as a scare tactic because they can be sued by the consumer (for thousands of dollars) each time they make this threat.
My advice and if you want to keep your money, hang up on these terrorist and report them to the FBI.
Wake up and smell the scam.- Caller: not a collection agency
- Belcher replies to BonyEither a predatory lender sold your information or these guys hacked into the system and stole your information.
Close your bank account immediately. Contact the police and your AG. - Been there done that replies to no money for freeDon't give them information and don't verify any information they give you. Just tell them you will never send them money. Even if you owe money, these guys are not legitimant, they are terrorist scammers trying to extort money from Americans to fund their operations. Do not send them money or you will be sending money down the drain. They'll take what they can scare out of you, wait a few months and start hounding you for me.
- JC Bennington replies to BuggedCall him back and tell him you know its a scam. I did and he yelled and screamed and really it became quite comical. I laughed and told him I was recording his ranting and he hung up, I kept calling him back, he didn't like the shoe being on the other foot. The louder he yelled the more I laughed. I told him I would send him 50 centss. He said do what you have to do. I haven't heard from him again.
These scammers really have some nerve, but I guess it doesn't take much nerve hiding cowardly behind a telephone. - will not be scammed replies to N.I.N.AYou shouldn't still have something on your credit report that is 10 years old, ok maybe in your state, but in Texas it only stays for 7 years.
Anyways, I have received calls from these guys, alot of them with different names and numbers, they have accents but American Names.
They are scammers but not very good. If you have a little bit of intelligence you shoud smell the rat right off the bat.
Tell them you know they are terrorist scammers and report them to the FTC and attorney general. I even called my local police and they told me they had received hundreds of calls reporting these scammers because the scammers claim the police will be picking you up and arresting you at your job or in 24 hours so lots of people had been calling.
Brian Smith called me also, the next week he was Vincent Smith, the next Kevin Johnson, the next John Conner, the next Officer Peter Smith, and its goes on and on. - joyce| 1 replyplease stop them from calling me. say i have a lawsuit from a financial company and i know that it not true
- Caller: affidavit consolidation services
- Call type: Debt collector
- Former Collection Agent replies to joyceTo Joyce the above post, you say you don't have a lawsuit, then why worry about what these scammers say. They will keep calling to wear you down. But don't send the pigs a dime.
All they can do is call, change your number, or have fun with them. Let them waste their dime and time.
Also, I know many people that are EVEN NOW recording these calls to be played all over tv, radio and the Internet to warn people about these scammers. So record a few of your calls, call the police, they will help you. Call a consumer attorney, they will help.
It's all sorts of things you can do. They prey on weak people so don't be weak, read, research, and post post post, report, report, report. Anyways the FBI and US Secret Service are looking into these scams more heavily now because they are threatening Americans and may be terrorist. So call your AG office and the FTC.
Some people are changing their numbers but most don't care about the calls because these guys are become popular and everyone knows its a scam so they are just searching for stupid people to con. Be smart. - Doover replies to manMan in the above post.
You write like the scammers talk.
What's up with that? - TootieAn Indian Accent man calling himself Victor Smith called me and told me I was being sued about 4 months ago. A few days ago he called again and said the same thing, I asked by whom and why and he got hostile. He said he could save me from being arrested if I wired him $500. I said no, he became very threatening and screaming and I couldn't make out what he was saying, he had really bad English. He hung up, I in turn called him and no one answered at first, then on my 5th try, I got an answering machine, that said, you've reached Brandi better known as mom, leave a message.
This is weird, and by the way I don't owe $500 to anyone and I'm not being sued by anyone, I already checked into that by calling the courthouse in my district. The courthouse clerk said they had been getting several calls from people with the same story as mine.
After this, I reported these calls and this Victor Smith (of course that is a fake name) to the FBI, Secret Service and the FTC. Everyone that gets these calls should do the same.- Caller: Victor Smith a scammer
- JusttNBC 4 called the number left avoicemail. The man who answered would not take any questions and hung up the phone.
If they call you file a report against the company, called National Affidavit Processing Services, with your Cities police department and called the Federal Trade Commission, along with three credit bureaus to protect herself.
The Attorney General’s Office says to never give out personal information over the phone.
You can also file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in your area if you think you are being scammed.

- TaylorWALLINGFORD, CT, August 07, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Better Business Bureau is warning consumers about would-be debt collectors who call "payday" loan holders, threatening arrest if they don't pay immediately.
A payday loan, also known as a paycheck advance, is a short-term cash advance intended to cover expenses until the holder's next payday.
The callers claim they are lawyers with the "Financial Accountability Association" or the "Federal Legislation of Unsecured Loans," and they are armed with stolen personal information from their victims, indicating a major security breach of unknown origin. The names used by the scammers may change with time.
According to Connecticut Better Business Bureau President, Paulette Scarpetti, payday loan holders appear to be particularly at risk.
"Because the scammers have so much information about potential victims, BBB is concerned that this may be the result of a data breach. Thousands of people may have had their personal information compromised."
Reports received by Better Business Bureau and posted online explain the con artists threaten the loan holders of defaulting and claim they are being sued. The imposters threaten the loan holders with imminent arrest and extradition to California to stand trial, unless they immediately wire $1000 or provide bank account or credit card information.
Connecticut Better Business Bureau has advice for consumers who receive suspicious telephone calls about an outstanding debt:
-Don't be bullied into immediate action. Ask the debt collector to provide official documentation that substantiates the debt.
-Do not provide or confirm any bank account, credit card or other personal information over the telephone until you confirm the legitimacy of the call.
-If you believe a debt collector is trying to scam you, file an abuse complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) online at www. ftc.gov, or by telephone at (202) 326-2222. Also file a complaint with your Better Business Bureau at http://www.bbb.org or by telephone at 203-269-2700, ext. 2.

I feel like a fool, and come to find out, I didn't have any debts, this was a time when I had just gotten divorced and wasn't thinking clearly, Now I have to pay the credit card company $1200. This is a scam, they will call you endlessly to try and wear you down. Don't fall for it, please, don't be a fool. These are liers and thieves. I hope they burn in hell, the pigs.

- Called by KathyA woman with a heavy accent calling herself Kathy Wilson spoke with me about a loan that was never taken out in 2008. She was very good at scaring me and even got me to sign up for a payment plan. Forumately I came across this site and called her back the next day asking for something in writing; suffice it to say she was not very happy about that. I proceeded to pet her know about fdcpa regulations which she really didn't like. Since then, I have changed my banking information (walmart money card) and changed my telephone number. This is very scary stuff and I hope and pray that no one falls for this like I almost did.
