See 801-656-1247 for more info about these scammers. Unkown Name on ID, message: ESA with "really good news" (said in a religious tone) about saving money on utilities. I hung up after that so did not hear the whole scam.

Told them not to call but they called back 5 min. later. SOLICITION CALL !

We are on the no call list....

Some fool called me, ID just showed Beaverton, he had my name and said he was chosen to represent my district for some energy credits, blah, blah, blah. I told him not interested, don't call again.  What a bunch of creeps!  

These low-life morons keep calling me but don't leave a msg. I specifically said don't call again, but they have learning disabilities apparently. .

Second call of the day. I let my answering answer the first call as it screens out solicitations. The second time I answered before the machine picked up. Caller started right off with "this is not a solicitation" and then proceeded to solicit. When will I ever learn.

Female caller: Is Joan (my wife's first name) there?
Me: No.
Female Caller: Big pause. Is a homeowner there?
Me: I am a homeowner.
Caller: Big pause, then hang up.

I get one or two of these a day but I never answer.

Calls few times a day. No message. Caller ID Beaverton, OR.

No more scam calls

Why don't you guys get a phone that allows to block call.  I have a panasonic phone that blocks call once you put the number to block in it.  It works really well and you can put up to 250 numbers in it.  There are other manufacturers that have phones with similar function.  It has reduced the scam calls considerably.

Keep calling my home phone, on do not call list.  No message just repeated calls.

These low-life fools keep calling me every damn day, 2-3 times a day. The latest call showed "GRP"  whatever the hell that is.
They will never get any kind of business from me so why do they keep calling? Crazy as hell!  I would never do any business with any company that conducts itself in this manner so its a waste of time for them....

I looked them mup. They are selling LIGHT BULBS that save you energy.One of the  oldest scams going.

Unwanted call.  My phone is on the DO NOT CALL LIST - not that it is very effective.
"Mike" said he had been trying to call me for several days though I do not find the same phone number on the call record.  He also said he could lower my utilities - this call went to my answering device - I hung up at that point.  He said the company is ESA - the Phone ID showed GRP.  I will report this and if repeated, I will pursue it legally.

It is quite effective for the purpose for which it was created.

This post has two parts.  The =second= is for people who are interested in the realities of the Do Not Call list.  The =first= is for people who have difficulty understanding long explanations, but think the DNC list does not work.

1)
The DNC list is not a magic switch attached to your phone line, that will block calls.

The DNC list is intended to help stop calls originating from legitimate telemarketers.
* Your calls were not from legitimate telemarketers.
* Therefore, the DNC list will not stop those calls.

2)
The DNC list does not automatically block calls.  Instead, it provides a list of  "do not call" phone numbers to legitimate, registered telemarketers who pay a fee for the list.

The DNC list exempts political callers, survey organizations,  charities, and companies with preexisting business relationships, as well as debt collectors, but these organizations might have their own, internal Do Not Call list (ask them).

The DNC list is not effective against criminals, spammers and scammers, because those people do not subscribe to the DNC list, and do not care if you are on or off that list.
Its purpose is to stop calls from legitimate telemarketers, and it does a pretty good job at that.  Just think ... if there were no DNC, you would be receiving incessant calls from BOTH legitimate and scam telemarketing callers!

If you receive calls even after reporting them (and waiting a sufficient time), then you should consider using a call blocker app, device or service as your first line of defense.  Google "call blocker" to see such things at Amazon or other sites.
