its wells fargo for a payment you may be late on...the number will always be 503 area code and the rest of the number will change depending on which collector (from a call center) is calling you...

Not true. I called wells fargo, they say any wells fargo call will always be prefaced with 800. we have no late anything and they're still calling us eight and nine times a day. Possible scam, although nobody speaks when you answer and never any message. Just really, really irritating.

Happening to me for the last week.  This is Wells Fargo's collection agency.  They will call you many times a days until they get you.

check the fair debt collection act.  Prohibited acts Section 806(5) states "causing a telephone to ring or engaging any person in telephone conversation repeatedly or continuously with intent to annoy, abuse, or harass any person at the called number".

I've been on vacation a week and everyday including weekends I've received 8-10 calls from this number each day.  They do not respond when you answer nor do they leave a message.  Today I called them back and "Steve from Wells Fargo" asked for my card number and/ social security number.  I faked the information and asked him for a 800 number and he faked static and hung up!  I then called Wells Fargo and they denied this was one of their telephone numbers.  ATT offered to  do a trace and report the call to fraud investigative services after a certain length of reported harrassment.  I will do it soon as I return from my trip!

They call and bother me all day! They want me to pay for a credit card bill for panties about 5K worth > I don't feel like it?> They can suck my 44DD's

This number has been calling my non stop for the past MONTH! every time i pick up...no answer! I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO! so i stopped picking up. But still they are calling and calling at least 3 times a day! i now have over 20 missed calls from them. How do I get rid of them!?

I get these calls as well.  At least 4 per day now.  I do not have any business with Wells Fargo.  The Better Business Bureau should be notified to correct their harrassments.

Argh.  I suddenly starting getting bombarded as well with out of the blue calls from this same number just this week.  Up to a couple of dozen calls, v-mails/hang-ups in a few days so far. Knew something had to be wrong. That said, the first few voicemails did have a live person asking for a male name that I didn't recognize (and unfortunately now don't remember).  At the time I just assumed it was some collection agency and that sooner or later they'd figure out they had a bad number for this guy, but it has started to get pretty intrusive. Perhaps if they actually bothered to LISTEN to my outgoing greeting they'd know it's not their guy but heaven forbid they'd have anything other than an automated dialer with no freakin ears! After about 8 calls the vmails stopped and now they just hang on the line long enough to leave me a hang up vmail.  Nice.

So I called the number and got "Wells Fargo Card Services."  The nice woman with the Indian accent asked for my account number.  I told her I was not a customer but was receiving a harrassing number of calls to my cell and messages looking for someone I've never heard of or leaving 6-10 hang ups a day. She took my number, pulled it up on her computer (allegedly) and asked if I knew this person.  When I confirmed that I did not, she told me she would remove my number and the calls should stop immediately.  Fingers crossed!

This is Wells Fargo and they are rude and a nightmare.  I am called 4-5 times a day at home AND at my work.  2-3 rings then they hang up.  No messages, no return telephone number.

I have told them I cannot receive calls at work.  Terrance was his name - he has the nerve to tell me this is important give me your name and address before we can do anything.  A few more choice words and I hung up on him.

It was 8:01am this past Sunday and they were already calling my house.  NIGHTMARE and sad but they make Wells Fargo look like [***] too.

I think I am going to contact the Better Business Bureau about this harassment.

And the comment about numbers prefaced with 800 is WRONG.  503 is the one driving me zonkers.  I've vented . . .

Been getting constant calls from 503 403 2657 no one is there and caller ID says Oregon. I call and get air. Verizon says to locate  800 NUMBER OR BUSINESS.

They call me at least 10 times a day. They are a complete nightmare. They call at obscene hours of the morning (4:00-6:00am) and at night (11:00pm). They're extremely rude and inconsiderate, and they never leave a voicemail detailing their "business".

I'm not ever the person that owe then anything.  I gave Wells Fargo phone caller a very bad head ache when he made the mistake of telling me that he would keep calling me if I did not give him my niece's( the debtor) phone number. I stated that the number he was calling was my number and not my niece.  When he threaten me with continued phone call, I got mad enough to give him a nervous break down.  Next, I will send them a "stop debt collection call" letter and report them as a harressing caller.

I received the third call from this place today at work.  I say third because the first two they were told NOT to call my job.  Obviously I'm ignored.  I tried to get the last name of 'Jennifer' but she refused to give it.  For 11 minutes she drove me crazy.  At the end of the call I was transferred to her supervisor (she of course previously gave me a male name as her supervisor but I was connected to a woman).  She was just as lovable as Jennifer but her name was Shelly.  Again would not provide me with a last name.  I's severly pissed at Wells Fargo right now.  Snakes they keep calling me at my job and I want to file a complaint against them.  Shelly had the nerve to tell me until I provide them a Power of Attorney (for what the attorney I have), anyhoo they will continue to call me.  I dared her to go for it.  I'm not stupid they are breaking the law and continuing to do it.  Idiots.  Yes the operators have a job but when you are told not to call a number don't call the number.  AND don't be rude.  Who in the hell will give you one second if you talk to them as though they are 6 years old and caught with your finger in the cookie jar?  Seriously.

Love it - Terrence was my first nightmare with Wells Fargo here at work.  I asked what this is regarding and his respone was give me your name and address.  Jerks.

They must test each applicant on their rudeness.

Calls 3-4 times weekly.  Does not leave message (shocker!).  Comes up as Oregon on caller ID.

They are calling cause you OWE them money, try making pymts or better then that try calling them and setting up a plan. Then you wouldn't have the calls and you could waste your time making money to pay back the credit card, loan, or car pymt that you haven't made paymemys on in months. Get real blog about something positive WELLS FARGO is a fortune 500 company i'm sure they understand all the laws you THINK they are breaking. You trusted them to borrow from them and now that you have fallen past due you dont trust them, STRANGE HOW THAT WORKS. Pick up the phone and call them and make plans to repay for sure the calls will stop.

I work for Wells Fargo Bank and these people called my home. They say they are from Wells Fargo Card Services, but this is not the number for that department. It is an 800 number, not 503. They say they are with the collection department and they are trying to collect on a past due payment. They ask for your card number and your social security number. If they really were Wells Fargo, they wouldn't be asking for that information. We already have that information! I started asking them questions and of course they couldn't even respond to them. The lady on the other line ended up hanging up on me. I told them to look up my name and they could find all my information, but of course they don't have it because IT IS NOT WELLS FARGO. It was interesting when I told them I work for Wells Fargo, and I had all my accounts pulled up online and told them I did not have a past due payment. They definately called the wrong number with me as I caught on real quick to their scam. If you talk to someone at a Wells Fargo Bank location, know that we don't ask for your social security number anymore to pull up your accounts. We want to help you protect your identity. Too many people have fraud on their accounts because thiefs like these ones calling from 503-403-2657 manage to get customers to tell them information. Don't trust them!
THIS IS A SCAM! They are trying to get your card number and social security number so they could do fradulent activity on your account.
The best thing to do is call your local Wells Fargo location or the phone number on the back of your card to make sure all your accounts are okay. If you really have a past due account we could help you out, or get you the right phone numbers to call. We could even verify the phone numbers for you and let you know if they are Wells Fargo or not. The bottom line is never give out your information over the phone to someone CLAIMING they are from any company, unless you can verify that really is who they say they are.

I work for Wells Fargo also. I have received these calls, but it was in error. Somehow the phone number they have on file was linked to someone that was in collection on their credit card.

The people that are calling are not the nicest, and not the brightest either. It would be great if they were a little more sensitive to people and not judge them because they assume whoever they are calling is behind in payments. I understand they are trying to collect on a debt, but sometimes the information they have may be incorrect.

I pulled up the credit card services phone number on wellsfargo.com and spoke with them. They do ask for an account number because that is how they need to search for you. I asked them to verify the 503 number which they did. It is just not a common number that most people would know it's Wells Fargo. It is their collection department.

It does seem like a scam when you know there is nothing wrong with your account and all they are asking for is information from you. I would agree to call your local Wells Fargo location, the number on the back of your card, or the phone numbers on the website. You know who your calling is Wells Fargo. Don't give out any information if you don't feel comfortable with it.

Be careful with any calls to you asking for personal information. Too many scams are out their, and they have jaded us.
