Got a call. They actually left a message. Believe it is a Travel Agency. If you answer Press 9 to be removed from their call list.

That does not work press 9 and they call you more

They talk about placing a sign in my yard for free because the FBI recommends security monitoring of homes.  Nobody does anything for free.  I have asked the person who comes on the line to stop calling.  They have not so I will be reporting them.

You are correct as they are scammers looking for personal information !!

This is the latest phone number these scammers are using, along with the spoof caller ID "Servicing" !!
The scam phishing callers have used all of the following phone numbers thru Oregon (Beaver, Gresham, Portland) for the travel scam, security scam and credit card scam.  503-457-1178, 503-563-0081, 503-468-5008, 503-468-5336 and the latest one 503-468-5740 !!

I've been wondering if they really will leave you alone with the ph. calls if you press 9 (as I did) after answering their calls & listening til they say "or opt out by pressing 9". Now you've answered my question & I figure the DO NOT CALL lists etc. are the same way. Just give all telemarketers the ph #s to call that they didn't have already. It seems to be for us being harassed "A NO WIN situation".

Yes, we recvd the same type of call, to see if we would let them put a security sign at our house as well , NO !!! nothing is for free . What is up a A Scam. I reported this number  Im fedup with this kind of nusence . Glad there is a place to vent . The number 503 468 5740 is a lanline somewhere from Astoria , Oregon. Tried to call the number and it is disconnected .

Just got a call from this number, with the recording for  free security system.  As another poster stated, this is new that they are calling from this number.  I have had 3 previous call (which I've logged) from 503-457-1176, with the exact same recording.  Will be reporting them now.  Does anybody else wonder if thismight be a burglarly ring trying to screen who has security systems or not?

I got the call for a free security system and was stupid enough to go along with it. I gave them my name, address, and phone number.  Now I have to worry what will happen.  Called the police. I live in Astoria OR.

You get a call from this number and the caller starts talking about a security system sign for your front yard.  Exasperated by all the previous spam telephone calls you receive, you fire back, "I don't want a sign and I don't even HAVE a security system!"  Then you hang up and start to realize what you've just said.

The spam caller m-i-g-h-t be using a foreign area code to screen through your neighborhood for burglary targets (especially the homes where the resident who, in frustration, blurts out that they don't have a security system),  

Here we are, in the 21st Century, and we must screen all incoming calls and not answer most of them because criminals have become increasingly sophisticated.  Though it's a fact of life, I still think it sucks.

I got the call from 503-468-5740 too after I had got one from 703-291-9023 with the same burial pitch one hour earlier and had got through where they wanted me to leave a message and recorded my tv for 10 minutes until they hung up. This time I left them the Monster song on their answering machine. I normally get through to alive person if I can and tell them off and hang up on them but since they have changed tactics I will fill up their answering machines with whatever I can.

They don't want to give up they don't honor the do not call list so maybe if we can make them waste enough time on other things they will give up. If not it doesn't matter I will keep on doing what I can.
