507-720-9309 - Michelle KennedyThis evening I received a message titled "WELLS FARGO BANK ALERT: Your CARD has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at: (503) 688-9247." I do not have a Wells Fargo account and know of no bank that would send a message that way. I called the # and it puts you into a message system that asks for your account number first, with no other menu options or opportunity to talk to a customer service rep. This is an attempt at fraud -- some one trying to get a credit card number to use.
- Emilygot the same thing
- DMT replies to RandomnessJust got a text alerting me to call Wells Fargo about my Deactivated Card! Hmm how could my card be deactivated WHEN I DON'T HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM!!
I have heard about texts from Wells Fargo and B OF A a lot lately!!! SCAMMERS! I wish they would figure out Who is doing this. - ksphishing scam from Wellsfargo stating account deactivated
- LexiI just got a text msg from 507-720-9309 that read, "your Wells Fargo account has been deactivated, call 503-688-9247". Naturally, I looked up Wells Fargo's REAL number and called them. They verified that neither of these numbers is valid for them and that phishers are very tricky about having people call them and getting info that way.

- A Non| 1 replyRecieved a text message today, 9/6/11 @ 1:12pm from 503-929-3160 with the following message: "WELLS FARGO ALERT: Your CARD has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at: 503-688-9247."
I called Wells Fargo and they confirmed this is a scam. I asked if they wanted the phone number that the text came from, but agent indicated they already had it (not sure how she knew that since I never gave her the number). They indicated if I was concerned I could file a police report. Since I have never had a Wells Fargo account, I'm not concerned about it. However, given that this could impact Wells Fargo customers, I thought they would be more concerned about being proactive and tracking down the individuals who are doing this. Oh well....- Call type: Text message
