- DanReceived a text message on my cell phone from 503 929-3160 with a message "WELLS FARGO BANK ALERT: Your CARD has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at: 503-688-9425."
8:13pm 8/31/2011
Called the number from a land line and got a automated message for the Wells Fargo Card Activation line. Although the recorded message sounded broken and a little garbled. It wanted me to enter my "card 16digits number". Sounds real fishy!!! I don't have a Wells Fargo account.- Caller: Well Fargo Bank Alert

- SunnyI just got the send text message only it came from 9713442271. the message said wells fargo bank alert your card has been deactivated please contact us at 5036889425. I do have a wells fargo account however I knew my card had not been deactivated because I had just used it ,so I called wells fargo bank and spoke with customer service just to make sure and they assured me that they have not contacted me and that this is most definitely a fraud attempt.

- SamI too got the SAME text. My husband went to wells fargo (we have an acct. there) and they told him it was a scam. I also received calls from a 4-digit number on my cell. it told me to hit #1 to fix the fraud issue. It totally upsets me that they are doing this. I wonder if anyone has fallen for it!!
- MikeI got the same message and I am going to delete the message. I think this is also a SCAM
Thanks to Google we all can stay connected. - AngieThere was a segment on the evening news in Portland 8/30/11. Several people fell for this, providing account numbers and pin numbers. Their account was cleaned out in minutes. The local news says it is a scam originating from overseas. I got the same thing today, but did not reply.
