I made the mistake of answering and got an automated recording offering me a free wireless security system. It started out with a hello, and waited for me to answer, mimicking an actual conversation. I hung up.

This number just called me. The caller id said, "HOME SECURITY". I didn't answer it because The Most High God is my security, and if I have too, I'll call Michael, and he'll kick butt, for me. :'-)

If you think a bronze-age myth is gonna protect you, go for it... Magick is fun.  But I would rather you get wise and learn to protect yourself.  Remember what the Arabs say:  "Trust in God, but tie up your camel" or, as they would say in Brooklyn, "trust in God, but lock your car doors!"  Religion only works if everyone is on the same page, and these are baseless predators who will have no hesitation about nailing you.  If your naive philosophy worked, there wouldn't be any Darell Roofs or Hitlers, sweetie.  You are naive prey.  And what makes you think some imaginary creature has the same idea about what you need as you do?  What we all should do:  1) don't answer. 2) eavesdrop on your call screening feature - most scammers hang up leaving no message. 3) check caller ID.  Then come here to see if there are complaints, which will validate that you made the right decision by not answering.  That's what I did.  Learn to protect yourself realistically.  If you wouldn't open your door just because a stranger knocks, why would you "open the door" and answer a scam call?  There is absolutely no difference.  You know better than to rely on angels when a stranger bangs on your door, you have the good sense to protect yourself... so why bring the extra baggage when a predator calls?  Don't open the door to either.  I also think you were trying to use this forum to proselytize, which doesn't go over well with me.
